Maybe the WTBTS should have kept Beth Sarim for the old CO's and DO's to retire to in California. They could keep an eye out for Abraham, David, Moses, Isaiah, Samuel ... For those who aren't familiar with Beth Sarim just Google it.

Chet and Rosie were staying with us the year the Buffalo Bills played the Redskins in the Super Bowl. I remember watching the game with Chet. That was 1992. At that time, Chet was in his early 60's. So I'm thinking he'd be in his 80's about now if he's not gone.
If I remember right, I think the Razors were stationed in Alaska for awhile before they had come to us in WI. I think they were used to the cold.

Thanks Chaserious. Do you know if Rosie passed away too? Ole Chet ... he used to insist on Breyers ice cream because it only had like 4 or 5 ingredients. My folks made sure it was in the freezer for him. They'd feed them jumbo shrimp and steaks and wait on them hand and foot for the week they were with us, each time they came. Chet snored like a freight train. So bad that Rosie couldn't sleep in the same room with him. So she slept in my room and I slept elsewhere. I didn't mind. She was nice. Chet was full of himself ... kind of like Rush Limbaugh. But I like Rush. Chet encouraged me to reach out to be a ministerial servant when I was just 15. By that time I was already doing the KH's books as the unofficial "accounts servant". So I reached out. By the time I was 19 I had been a regular pioneer, worked at Bethel as a temporary construction worker and was made a MS. Chet left an impression on me as a young man. He was definitely blunt though. Every time I hear a strong Philly accent, he comes to mind.
As I was reading this whole thread, I realized I have forgotten many of the CO's that came and went. I saw Brother Razor mentioned. They stayed with us as well. His wife was attractive for her age, but chilly if you know what I mean. I remember he used to hang upside down on his inverter to stretch. Crazy the things that stick with a person.
I'm kind of glad I can't remember as much as I used to. I guess it's working it's way out of me.

I stumbled on this old thread via a Google search for Chet Ruch. I was watching Anthony Bourdain tonight and he's in Philadelphia which I believe is approximately where Chet Ruch and his wife Rosie were from. They use to stay with our family when I was young. I see the comments above regarding him being sick. Does anyone know whatever came of him and Rosie? The post above is almost 9 years old already. I wonder if they're still alive?

Thanks for the tip Chariklo! Seems to have worked.
Now to qualify the below results, I just left my rating at medium as it related to my fervor on any of the questions asked. I may go back through and adjust that part a bit to see what it kicks out. I told my wife last night, it's ironic that the religion that I relate to the least is the one I have let control my life the most. Crazy, crazy ....

Going out with a bang
by LittleToe inafter much deliberation, i decided to go "out" at the end of a public talk.
it didn't go down too well, but at least i was able to give some of my reasons for leaving.. i've put some of the details on my homepage.
i'll update it more when i get the time and the strength.

I just listened to the audio of the talk and read along with the manuscript. Outstanding! Hats off to Little Toe. That man had courage! Such composure all the way through.
I disassociated myself about two weeks ago. Sent the letter to Brooklyn and the local K.H. ... It's good to have closure on that chapter of my life after a long 15 year plus fade. My relationship with my family was pretty much gone anyway. I haven't heard from them since sending the letter and that's fine. Life goes on ... with or without them. To be quite honest, for many years it's been better without them.
For the new ones here that know something isn't right with the "Organization", I would encourage you to pour yourself into searching out the answers sooner than later. Life is precious and the only regret I have regading leaving the "Organization" is not leaving it sooner.
Thanks for the bump on this thread slimboyfat.

How will Obamacare affect the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society?
by The_Present_Truth ini'm not sure if this has been addressed here or not but i've been curious as to how obamacare stands to affect the wtbts and those serving at it's branches in the usa?
has anyone looked at this?
seems the catholics are all shook up about what obamacare stands to "make" them provide their "employees".

I was actually wondering how it would affect the "Bethel Family" per say. I think right now the WTBTS in the USA is self insured as it relates to health insurance for those serving. I could be wrong. Just wondering if they'll have to provide broader coverage for those serving, possibly purchased from an outside carrier? That could be pricey....
