i have explained "dubnesia" before, which is that amnesia that jws seem to get about the actual content of their so called spiritual nourishment.
not to criticize, as i always get that after hearing h. ross perot talk.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/188046/1/dubnesia-have-you-had-it.
now i have audio of dubnesia as we hear two jws explain to a householder about how wonderful the talk they heard was.

read the account of moses taking the credit for the water provision miracle and that of king david's folly and his consequences.. ...read them.... ...you are still reading.... ...ok now you have that fresh in your mind.. jehovah had a correctional arrangement in place for all his spokesmen.
story of jonah would work great too.
the point being that in the bible god has always had this correctional arrangement for the leaders of his earthly organization.. that being said, where did that arrangement go?
gubberingbody: Show me a SINGLE instance in print where they have admitted fault.
There are none. Whenever the WT dusts off the blame stick, it's always pointed away from their table. The leaders of the WT, through their writings, come off as some of the most arrogant, audacious people I have ever seen. They are IT, with two capital letters.

palmtree67: My circumstances in life led me to be an adultress, as well. Please don't misunderstand me - I take responsibility for what I did. But I had to understand what led me to that point and how I could make sure that I never let myself sink to that level again.
You hit the nail on the head there. Getting your face rubbed in the pee spot so-to-speak is a very ineffective treatment for questionable moral behaviour. The whole probation period of DF'ing is asinine and doesn't even touch the real issues at hand.

I just cant picture it without some structure. How do you feel it should be done?
They must disband, it is only a matter of time. They have chosen to govern their subjects using a I just cant picture it without some structure. How do you feel it should be done?I just cant picture it without some structure. How do you feel it should be done? Totalitarian governmental framework. History has this type of goverment well documented and it has always eventually ended up in some kind of mass rebellion and goverment overtaking.
This will happen to the WT. They will not loosen their grip, in fact they have tightened it of late, so they force a rebellion as the only means of escape.
Once the rebellion, whatever form it takes, becomes too strong they will be forced to disband, however that actually happens.

I think the best thing is to limit disfellowshiping to things that directly harm the local flock.
That's the age old catch 22 though. Who has the credentials to choose who is and who is not harming the flock? No man our group or men have ever been able to make these decisions, without serious side effects or just outright corruption.
Outside of no brainers like murder and the like, which gets you in prison, it has not been done.

You are clueless Alice, did you even read my last post?
It is up to the sole individual, and it is out of place for anyone to force you to make such a decision, by any means.
Maybe bolding will help this time?

we have been out of the organization since 1-1-2004 - at least that is the way we mark it to remember.
we began to read ray's books in late fall/early winter of 2003 - a thousand pages later and a few weeks - viola - we were out to never return.. i was contemplating just how significantly i have personally changed in that period of time - not the stages, though there have been many stages.
but the raw contrast of my opinions, moral stance, and view of the world is amazing.
My therapist told me a quote that will always stick with me:
"There is always something in your existence which you don't know, and the knowing of which would change your life."
cheers!

Friggin,
If you shun someone you are judging them, something Christ forbade.
It's a slippery slope tho because like you said there are reasons to make a decision to stop contact with someone because of a danger to you or your family. But who's responsibility is it to make that decision?

The number of Witnesses who would not follow the DF'ing arrangement to a tee if it were not "the WT law" is staggering. The fact that so many exist is evidence that there is some emotional blackmail going on.

If you push counter doctrines in any Church, Cathedral, Synagogue, Mosque; there may not be a formal discharge but you'll be systematically pushed out the door. Go to a Catholic Church and try and promote orthodox Judaism, tell them Jesus was a false prophet and watch what happens. That's why these buildings are not on the service territory in Jehovah's Witnesses ministry. There's a time and a place for everything and that's not the place to press counter beliefs. Why would anyone who consecutively breaks God's law want to hang with people who don't break God's laws? The shunning arrangement doesn't go against freewill so what's the complaint?

Alice, why do you think there is so much hostility towards the Organization on this website? (an in turn you). Because of the shunning arrangment! Nothing more, nothing less.
If that arrangement didn't exist the hostilities of ex members would almost completely fade away.
These people are in a rock and a hard place, because they refuse to accept something that they don't believe, plain and simple. No one can blame anyone on this planet for following their conscience, no one. But yet they are, and they called weak, feeble, blind and to quote you: disgusting.
The WT exiles these people, drags their good names through the dirt, and the has the audacity to categorize them as persecuters when they have something negative to say about it.
I have gotten my answer to my first question. The answer is that you are not here to answer anything youself, but only to blindly defend Watchtower Doctrine and Policy.
Farewell, I'm tired of responding you.
