I try to bring up the DF'ing and Worldy Association doctrines with my mother. Deep down I know she hates both policies and chalks them up to "imperect men."

...you ever feel like you are debating basic addition or multiplication or something like that?
you ever stop in your head and say:.
"why the hell am i spending time doing this?".

hey folks, does anyone know which wt article talks about how babies will be killed as in the ones that were killed at sodom and gomorrah and the flood?.
i'm drawing a blank completely what article it was in.. thanks in advance everyone!.
his reply was that since Jehovah created all things it was his right to do whatever he chooses to do.
By that logic God could be evil and his acts would be 100% justified. Sooo how do we know he's not evil? I'm my book, and yours, killing babies is evil. So shouldn't God do something about this infanticide to help show us that he's better than some of the most sinister humans in our history?

does anyone have any interesting observations since the book study arrangement in private homes finished?.
are jws happier with the extra night off?
do they miss the book study?
To add to Undercover, most people have the Internet in their homes these days. What's stopping any of these Book Study Groups from being exposed to apostate websites by the younger members? Something along the lines of:
"Hey guys, I found this interesting information on the internet, come into my room and I'll show you, I would like to know how it is explained..."
It could start out as a benign inquiry but many R&F eyes would see it. The GB can't stifle all those seeds of doubt, so they had to do away with the BS and say it was due to the "economy."

forget about noahs ark; there was no worldwide flood.
many people have contacted me about the recent claims by a group called noahs ark ministries international.1 the evangelical organization claims to have discovered noahs ark.2 i have responded on several occasions to these dubious claims on my blog.3 and still, this group has stood behind their claim,4 insisting that what they have found is real based largely on the belief that because the bible says the flood and the ark are historical, it must be so.
so, instead of addressing their spurious claims yet again, i thought i would approach the issue from a different angle: forget about noahs ark; there was no world-wide flood.. the worldwide flood described in genesis 6-9 is not historical, but rather a combination of at least two flood stories, both of which descended from earlier mesopotamian flood narratives.
That's quite a "parable".
You can't use sequels to the Flood Parable as proof of that it wasn't a parable. So remove Moses, Jesus and Peter from that list of yours.

i'm not giving anything away, but at the same time i'm giving a clue for those seeking the answers.. god's word and on the quest for the truth, is designed in a way, which the path is crooked and narrow.
it's crooked and narrow in the sense of the traps on the way.
if a person is self exalted, haughty, or is inclined to be that way, he will find 'his' truth, which will be a snare, and cause him to falsely judge others.
The answer to that is simple, they were not foretold. Upon leaving the WT I have spent (and continue to spend) a lot of time examining Bible prophecy. I have come to the firm conclusion that it is fallacious in that regard as well.
The first line of logic that I follow is why do the prophecies have to be vague? Why do have to be revealed at all? I want a book to say things like:
"And in those days there will be a global war and many of the Seed of Abraham will brutally perish."
Is it that hard to write? There is absolutely nothing even close to that in the Bible, it all has to be "revealed" through some personal revalation. And guess what:
"Sick and tired of running into Spirtual Brick Walls? Can't seem to make sense of the Bible? Don't want to devote your life to a life of Bible Study to find out the Truth About the Bible? Well it's your lucky day! Step right up, we got it all sorted out for you right here!"
I'll pass on the snake oil, thank you.
I'll just continue to live my life as morally as possible and I believe that in the end I'll end up where I end up.

well i didn't feel like going out in the heat so stayed home to watch all 11 star trek movies.. i have loved star trek since the first series.
it was one show my jw husband and i enjoyed.. when the movies started coming out i saw them all and collected them on vhs.
now i have traded those in for dvds.. so i am trekked out.. i have been to a couple of star trek conventions - really weird to see people dressed up as klingons.
That's my story. What a dorkette I am, huh?
Damn you sure are! Cool that you seem so comfortable in your own skin.

I am a huge fan of the ethical dilemmas considered in all the shows and movies. It's actually great therapy.

i enjoyed the article below, written by dr. steve mcswain, an author, a former pastor and a spiritual teacher.. .
finding god after leaving religion.
thirty-four million americans have given up on organized religion, according to the most recent american religious identification survey.
Ahhh, the do's and don'ts of Religious Theology...
I really like this statement:
God's grace is not limited to a select few. The moment any religion believes it is, you can be sure that religion knows nothing of God.
That is exactly how I feel.
