A friend of yours should be arriving any day now.
Jesus could arrive in my great great great great grandson's day... so how does this analogy fit?

luke 17: 26-35: 26"just as it was in the days of noah, so also will it be in the days of the son of man.
27people were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day noah entered the ark.
then the flood came and destroyed them all.. 28"it was the same in the days of lot.

i was abused by my father growing up.
physically and emotionally.. as a entered my adult life i had next to no self esteem, in part because he didn't really attempt to help me get some because i didn't chose the career path that he dreamed for me.. 2 years ago i forgave him.
i let go of the anger that i had for him because i knew that when it was all said and done, he did what he did and i believe that he did his best.
I think about Ray Franz. His books were not angry. They were calm, peaceable, and told the truth in an objective way.
They were peaceable, that's a great point.
I'm sure he has the most reason of all of to hold a grudge but the words of his book had no such thing!

By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
How did he condemn it? By shaking his fist in their general direction?

LostGeneration,
Your post reflects the anger in my heart. If we don't let go of that anger, it will bring us down (or at least lessen our total potential).

Hebrews 11 mentions Noah as a preacher of righteousness, but Noah didn't preach shit. Anyone can read the Genesis account and clearly see that God had already made up his mind to destroy everyone else. No preaching was therefore needed. No magazines to pass out. No return visits.
I agree. The Ark was not made for very many humans, therefore God (the designer of the Ark's dimensions) would have made more room (if he wanted more humans in it).

I believe the "thief in the night" reference is to show the element of surprise to His coming - when we least expect it.
But it wont be a surprise to the ones expecting it (like they are told to do in the Bible).
