Same for me Karter, but then this is a small place and we all appear to have known each other somewhere along the many years of being in the bOrg.

Were You Surprised You Remained a JW As Long As You Did?
by minimus inwe have been told there's no place else to go.
and to some degree mentally speaking, that is true especially if you were raised in the religion.

Do you remember Woulford and Betty Johns? - Karter
Yes I do. They stayed with me on one of their visits. Betty and her pink clothing...I remember so well. I can recall so many of the NZ CO's going back many years...some good friends others not so. Like Joe134cd I had little time for Charles. I never had a good word for him. Worked with him often at assemblies but hated it. I was talking to another brother one day and he came along and said to him: "Why are you standing here talking to the likes of him"? I was right on the verge of leaving the assembly right then! If anything went wrong it was my fault. Shall never forget his arrogance. Glad I no longer have to see him. His wife was lovely...I see she passed away not long ago. Sad.

Barry Bines and Monty Gower in New Zealand - both CO organization men through and through in the 60s and 70s, although Barry was possibly a tad more lifeless and plastic than Gower. - Steve2
Yes I remember them. I also remember here in NZ a CO by the name of Charles Glendinning. Any others from NZ remember him? What were your thoughts? Personally I had little time for him.

Burnt out!!! Ha Ha so true!!! Been there done that. I was in that position so long ago. I can relate so much. But that was a long time ago.....but have things changed???? NO they are the same. I have met so many who stayed thinking the end was near!!! Many now gone or disfellowshiped....What a wicked world they have created!!! Wake up and find freedom!!

2017 Convention Video To Be Shown Regarding The 1975 Failure
by pale.emperor inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=go3arnnsfkk&feature=youtu.be.
no mention whatsoever that it was watchtower themselves that strongly hinted towards this date.
instead they blame those who "put their trust in a date, not jehovah".. let's recap... .
-
KiwiBoy
They don't say which date.
BUT....if you pause the video and read the year text in the background you will read: "I will say to Jehovah you are my refuge and my stronghold.." Now what was the year text for 1975?
You guessed it......so they have dated this to 1975 by stealth.
And do the same for the next year text a few seconds later...you guessed it 1976.
