  My Dad died

  my dad,an elder for 25plus years,concentration camp survivor,the works,died in a few weeks ago.i am df'd but have been the only one who helps him and my mum.my jw sister couldnt give a rats ass about them.i was at my mom and dads house after he died,helping my mom with everyting,hell,id been there for 2 months because i was afraid to leave them alone.i knew my dad wasnt feeling well.guess he was worse than i realized.he died.the witnesses came in droves.small kitchen.im sitting at the table.they not only didnt speak to me,but they didnt even acknowledge that i was in the room,about day 3,i stopped answering the door..one "lady" called.sister carol.when i answered the phone she hesitated and said",now you know,i caint tawk to yew"{strong southern accent.ala elie may clampett}"you orta let cher mawma ainser the phone.

  "i told her to bite me and hung up on her...same here,when we got back home.i hate these people with the fury of a thousand suns,but for some reason,i am now in possession of some great elders notes.been laying low,but im going to start posting the juicy stuff.just cause itd be nice for calvin to know that he was seen "dancing recklessly" at a wedding and that sister renee was being councied for her weight and still insisted on gaining more.also that sister e wasnt giving her husband his "due"..{yik}and that certain concetration camp survivors were being coerced into saying that they were jw's at the time of incarceration.but one wouldnt.my dad refused to play their game,and as a result he was asked to step down as an elder at age of 80.that and that he refused to shun me.his notes have been very enlightening..nice folks thise jw's,no?

  they were so mean to my dad, he really believed this crap,and tried to do the right thing.but because he wouldnt dance their way,and turn me,his favorite person{and he was mine|into the cold they treated him badly and mocked him and even his accent.i hate them.really.any ideas?the local elder here,just asked my mom about her financial situation...grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

  I'm so sorry about your loss.

  Losing a parent is one of the most difficult things to go through. To have such blatant disregard and unchristian action shown toward you is unforgivable. The sheer lack of love and concern for you and your mum disgusts me.

  You are better off without them - as you well know. Your poor mum will be feeling disoriented in so many ways just now. Coping with her own loss, coping with the so called brothers, and also coping with seeing the horrible way they act towards you.

  I wish you the strength to deal with this and the wisdom to let them affect you less that a bit of dog shit on your shoe - wash them off and let your life be free of their offensive odour!

  Borg court: 3rd session & verdict

  so...the third and final session was pretty straightforward.

  they basically asked some more questions about the first woman, before i got back with the woman who became my wife.

  then they asked what seemed like nothing more than a customer survey of "how are we doin'?

  Sorry you had to go through the jumped up court of little men judging you. They have no right to act as they do and we are under no obligation to think one iota of their so called authority.

  You are free now - by your own choice - not their enforcement!

  It may not be plain sailing in your family life - but you have the knowledge that you are your own man and answerable to no one now.

  I wish you the smoothest journey possible and the happiness that will come with it.

  Non-practising homosexual JW's

  as i understand it, being gay is not a sin in the organization, only homosexual acts are sins.

  i've never read anywhere that gay jw people are encouraged to "fix" their gayness and marry.. i've certainly known a fair number of confirmed bachelor types who live exemplary lives in the witness sense - one life-long bethelite i knew springs to mind - but are clearly (to me anyway) gay.

  they've all been in the closet though.. i wonder if any jw has ever been out of the closet, but not disfellowshipped since they don't have sex?

  It is only for baptised witnesses. DF's not allowed to join.

  The guest book (all available to read without joining) made some interesting reading with folks from all over the world struggling with their sexuality but trying to stay within the boundaries of JW's.

  Interestingly several comments on there (I didn't have time to read them all - I skimmed through them so there may be more) mentioned that they had 'come out' to the congregations and were still accepted. Others mention serving as MS or elders through their 'struggle', whilst some are married and still in the closet.

  I can think of a brother I was close to for many years who really struggled with his gayness. He has never practised and is now in his 50's. He has thrown himself into the 'Truth' - serving as an MS and pioneer. I can't help feeling sorry that he was so self disgusted by his own feelings and at the same time terrified of losing face to the organisation - knowing that he can never express his sexuality. What a repressed way to live.

  There used to be a forum he was attached to through which he met other brothers who were in the closet. Although initially it was viewed as a source of support to keep them all strong - inevitably what happened was that some on there met, had sex, and were disfellowshipped.

  I think of the brothers who are at the meeting and assemblies looking all smart in their suits and no doubt being pursued by single sisters yet being incarcerated in their own beliefs and choices. If only they could see that the controlling element of their beliefs is not going to make them happy long term.

  Mill Hill Disfellowshippings

  a few months ago there was a thread about a couple of elders at the mill hill bethel being disfellowshipped because they disagreed with some wt doctrine (i can't recall exactly what it was) and that several other betheliteswere under 'investigation'.

  i haven't heard anything since, does anyone know anything more about this?.

  I wish you well on solving your 25 year old mystery Podobear. I will bypass on starting to think about that for the moment though. I have found myself actively not thinking (how's that for an oxymoron?) about spiritual or doctrinal matters. Since I began fading and now that I consider myself FREE - I know I have to give myself time for ME.

  Previously I was an excellent student and I have a great depth of knowledge of the scriptures and JW teachings. However I cannot allow myself to think about issues which I will by default answer from past knowledge. I have always known I could persuade people in or out of the 'truth' if I so chose. At the moment the thought of any religion leaves me cold.

  Like most folks on here - there has to be a time of recovery from a lifetime of servitude - let the healing commence.

  I read the section you mentioned and wondered about this:

  "When you get baptized with as one of the Brethren of the Sacrifice, your life will surely be changed."

  Since that is a phrase that Witnesses would never normally use - is that referring to a religion previous to Zenovia and Audrey becoming involved in the Witneses?

  The songs had circulated round the world by that time and were really enjoyed by those hearing them But when that announcement came out - CD's and downloads were erased in obedience!

  Narrow minds and non progressiveness - how blatant!

  I personally though song 54 was a beautiful version - chart worthy!
