why don't they just go on with their lives?
if they've found something better, why don't they just focus on that instead of us?

That is exactly my viewpoint bluegill. The fact is, it is a major part of my history, and even as I move on with my life, I will never fully shake the effects it has on me. It is my story, and I will tell it as much as I like. My very name is a constant reminder of the fact that I was born into a cult. So screw them if they don't like me saying things about the WTBTS. The WT has impacted every aspect of my life.
i heard a very funny thing at work on friday in the lunchroom.
i had got to the lunchroom late and my table of my fellow warehouse co-horts was full so i sat at a table of ladies who worked in manufacturing.
after a few "hellos" they soon resumed their conversation.
that is too funny. I cant think of anything now, but if you want good overheard humor you have got to go http://www.overheardinnewyork.com. It's R-rated but hilarious!

i have seen that statement made over and over again by jws about disfellowshipping.
Those who are born in dont get the opportunity to get all the info on the cult. We're taught about independent thinking from infancy. when i pressed the issue of god having no beginning &no end made no sense, my mother hit me in the mouth. that's how the evil of independent thinking was handled in my house. we trust our parents, that what is being taught is the truth. most of us really believed, thought we were serving god. they pulled a big bait & switch on us. the org likes to sucker the born ins into baptism as early as possible. its emotional blackmail. that means they have the entire family enslaved. none of them can leave. when you really think about the way this org operates, they are truly diabolical.
so im out of town for a couple of days for a software seminar.
it didnt start until noon yesterday so i took a walk down a busy street famous for its shopping and as i got to the end of the stores and the beginning of apartments i noticed two women standing on the sidewalk in front of what i later noticed was a kingdom hall.
as i started walking by giving them a smile and a polite greeting the one that was older, they were both young based on my terms the older in her 30s middle to late the younger in her 20s probably late.
Good for you, I can barely stomach talking to them anymore- did it a couple of weeks ago and it ended with a JW getting all loud and emotional. Please tell me you didn't contribute for the lit. Is there a new blood brochure talking about the fractions and all?

For the longest time I did not realize that they were lip synching. I gotta admit I shed a tear or two at the prodigal son drama (being inactive and all). The quality seems to have gone down.

so yesterday i end up having a nice evening with old friends who used to be in my congregation years ago.
i always loved this family, and thought we were pretty close.
what was meant to be a 'drop by - say hi' ended up being a 3hr visit!!
