  i always sit in the same spot, just outside starbucks in a vestibule area with a table in the air-conditioned space.

  i say "always," but not today.. somebody with two laptops and a table filled with business ledgers was in "my" favorite spot!.

  so, i took a tiny wooden table inside the coffee shop on a long padded bench next to 3 other identical tables.. as the clickbait banner ads like to say: "and what happened next was simply unbelievable!".

  That's brilliant Terry. I like how you used 'Theocratic Warfare' ;)

  I get what you're saying about feeling you've hurt those guys. Sure you might have gained some personal satisfaction, but to evoke the emotional reactions you did is ultimately a gift for them. What you've really offered is a kindness that may help them and people they know. Sometimes it takes something like this coming out of the blue and with a shock factor to bypass their pre-programmed responses.

  All in all I think you did really well how you led them in to it and then launched the bombshell. Have you been watching Angus Stewart by any chance? ;) :D

  the royal commission finally uploaded a redacted version of the 2015 branch manual.

  watchtower lawyers were looking to have as much redacted from this manual as possible.

  I Made the Literature Trolley Run Away Today - Twice

  i popped into town this morning to buy an anniversary card for mrs cofty.

  it is market day on a saturday and it's tourist season so the town was very busy.

  here is a picture of the scene from a year ago... two cult carts were in their favourite place being guarded by none other than one of the elders who was on my judicial committee, his wife and another jw woman in her electric disability buggy.

  Brian and Carol quickly snatch the boards from the top of the carts while Faye almost pulls a wheelie in her scooter and heads off down the High Street through a crowd of startled tourists. Now I get to watch Brian and Carol do an impersonation of headless chickens. First they head up the High Street but then they remember about Faye and turn back down the street after her. A few seconds later they realise she has fled the scene and their car is in the other direction so they turn the carts for the second time and head north.
  

  That had me laugh out loud!! :D

  while i'm working on this, can someone here do me a favor and look up the peak publisher figures reported by watchtower for the australian branch for each of the years from 2005 through 2014?

  For the whole dataset I got 1857 victims and 1006 abusers. This calculates to an ratio of 1.85 victims per abuser.

  I'm curious as to this ratio for the 10 year data slice you have extracted, as it appears from the figures you've produced that the ratio will be lower for the latter 10 years than for the dataset as a whole - which would suggest there's a downward trend.

  Also if you can separately determine the ratio for the period prior to 2005 we can absolutely confirm if there is a downward trend.

  What ratio did you identify from your statistical slice? It's evidently lower than for the whole data.
