Whatever happened to Applewhite's "report"?
by OrphanCrow indo you remember the wt lawyer trying to get justice mcclelland to accept a new and improved report from the wt "expert", monica applewhite?.
the wt lawyer even managed to squeeze more time from the commission for applewhite to prepare her report.
funny thing is, applewhite never submitted that report.. i guess she has been too busy with catholic business...no time for the wt dudes.

OrphanCrow: Applewhite never submitted that report
Do you know this in the affirmative?
Interesting that the Catholics too are discussing her performance.
I imagine that her career can only be extremely damaged. Anyone contemplating hiring her is one Google search away from Angus Stewart meticulously dissecting her PhD and her report.
I think she was badly briefed by WT and thought it would be easy money. And I think she was naive and did not know what she was letting herself in for. I would not be at all surprised if after that day she told WT to go and stuff it.

The risk is HQ would handle it like any other organisation handling a public relations situation. They would assign a few people to deal with it and no one else really need know. They'll skim a few thousand letters over a few days and quietly put them in the bin and that will be it.
But if those same few thousand letters went to a few thousand KH's then there would be a few thousand elders wondering what to do and a few thousand calls to the branch and to the CO etc. and the effects would last for weeks/months.
I think it very much depends on the outcome you are seeking to achieve.

If they are anonymous I think they would. I get the sense that they would do what they could to quickly bury it and minimise the effect as it's all happening at the centre. It would be just a blip on their radar.
But send to individual KH's and they have a potential nightmare on their hands as word gets around, and elders don't know what to do and they phone the branch and they scour their congregations... etc etc... :)

Please help me understand why the...
Send address should be to HQ, and if desired CC you local hall
From how I was reading it earlier, I understood the send address would be to your local hall and if you wished you could cc the branch/HQ.
I'm thinking that:
- if letters are sent en mass to HQ there's the potential HQ would clue in to what was happening and could simply assign someone to quietly put them in the bin and nothing much would come of it.
- if however, they were sent in the first instance to the BOE at your local KH then it would have the insidious and damaging effect as per my earlier post, and this in every congregation that receives one or more letters. People could also send to neighbouring congregations where they knew the names of the elders.

There's a world of difference between helping others and expressing your anger. -

I am liking the anonymous DA letter idea - sent to the local BOE.
Include some personal hints e.g. mentioning something specific about the elders so the elders will all feel obliged to read the letter.
I can see this would be a particularly insidious and destructive weapon.
Because they would feel obliged to read the letter to look for clues, the elders would unwittingly be exposing themselves to the reality of the WTS. Some may even be prompted to go online and look for themselves.
It would also continually play on their minds because they would perceive there was an apostate in their midst, but not know who this was, and this would create uncertainty and also keep the contents of the letter in their minds.
They would be trying to work out who in the congregation sent it. They will be looking at everyone suspiciously.
It would be subtle. Very subtle.
I like this idea a lot.

maksutov: Cool - even those who are already disfellowshipped or disassociated could join in with that.
Could even mail more than one congregation ;)
