  Do you know any dubs that goes to Las Vegas for Vacation?

  as we all know that las vegas is about gambling, but not everything is about gambling in las vegas, is there a way for the dubs to enjoy their vacation in las vegas without gambling?.

  dubs? I don't know about dubs, but there are othere attractions in Vegas besides gambling. It really depends on what you are looking for. There are plenty of shows to see ~Cirque shows such as the Beatles Love... comedy, a few 'old vegas' theme shows and plenty of others ..adult and otherwise. Concerts galore. Plenty of clubs (if you are into that sort of thing). A few museums~wax museum, Titanic, Bodies exhibit(not as sexy as it sounds.. its about the human body and how amazing the anatomy is), some art, a shark exhibit..

  There is an arts district that is very much alive on every First Friday with lots of freestyle artists~paintings, dance, drum circles...it's where freaks like myself like to go..

  Ballet, indoor/out-door plays and concerts

  There are spas to luxuriate, endless dining options, golf, shopping, Grand Canyon tours..

  There are a few more quiet, not vegasy place to relax

  One of my favorites is Red Rock Canyon for hiking, nature walks (not so much in the summer heat, though)~ some people bicycle, mountain climb. Desert beauty. I've seen some little funny go-cart looking things going by in groups (looks like rentals). Also Mount Charleston has plenty of hiking (great in summer). If you get the ski fever really bad, there is a resort Lee Canyon..right up with Mt Charleston.. in a pinch..

  Shattered ...

  okay, i got back on the 'net partly so i could be back in touch with you folks, b/c i've been so isolated for the past while ,,, so here goes!.

  i just got the news monday, and damn!!

  my foot is a mess,,, bursitis .. yech, painful, and the doctors have been ignoring me/telling me i'm making it up for 18 mos.

  talesin! Now that's just not fair..you are such a sweety. Your feet should be treating you right, those stinkers!

  I'm no doctor, but what skeeter said about the yoga (if you can) and cold therapy sounds good. Wonder if acupuncture might help.

  Am I nuts or something?

  i retired in the middle of may.. i know many of you would love to have endless free time on your hands too.. right?.

  ummm, well..... i'm use to being very active.

  i use to stand on my feet eight hours a day.. at the bookstore i'd have to squat, stoop, stretch, lift, walk.. i had to sort, answer question, make change.

  Could a Cult personality be someone's Authentic Personality

  we all know theory, that a cult personality masks the authentic.

  but after reading some of the cult indoctrinated posters here , i am beginning to think that they are showing their authentic personalities.. they don't appear to show any true human emotion or demonstrate any independant thinking ability, ony what they are told feel and think by the cult.

  is it possible that some people are born to be cult members in order to survive?.

  ...and if a person is mentally not well, then they are not truly being their authentic self. So, no, I don't believe cult personality is authentic for anyone.

  Everyone's comments are so interesting. This is curious~

  The cult must be satisfying some need for those converted. Being born-into...i believe to continue to stay in such a high-control lifestyle, it must also be satisfying some need for as long as the person remains. The need may be to express their true personality, or maybe because of an idealistic reason or something else.

  Once leaving of my own free will, after being born-into, there is a pretty intense self-discovery..like watersprout said, I feel like I'm experiencing life like a teen in many ways as well.

  Listening to that was the closest I've been to any meeting in over two years...can hardly believe I used to buy into it. It sounds so obviously propaganda-ish. It makes me so sad to hear it. I used to believe it heart and soul. Now it all sounds so ridiculous.

  Yes, Love, the true kind with no motives or agenda. My JW father really said during our last conversation "we have conditional love for you"..he said it. My friends now have shown pure love, the real kind..

  What Now?~ You put it so well. Your comment about being taken off the will..my parents added insult to injury there too. They revised their will once I left the religion. They were sure to tell me that should anything ever happen to them, my sister would no longer be left in my care. That hurt. They cannot see that this is having the opposite effect than what they are hoping for.
