i thought about that question myself and i don't think i really hate anyone.
i guess i could hate bin laden or some nameless evil terrorist but no one comes to mind..
The fires of my former hatreds have almost all cooled to glowing embers of dislike and mistrust.
But there are a few witnesses I knew who I detest due to the fact that they have engaged in very personal affronts (even betrayals) and their personalities contained almost no redeeming qualities at all. I will never speak to those individuals again, but then I don't have to do I?
I suppose that's the closest I get to hate anymore.
he has been ill for some time, but it was still unexpected.
he was never a jw and i didn't really have a close relationship with him, since he remarried after my parents divorced.
i reunited with him in the mid 90's after over 10 years of not seeing him.. .
Very sorry to hear that. My father and I didn't talk for several years either. He's still alive, and fortunately we've patched things up a bit. But I'm very sorry for what you're going through. Hang in there.

I grew a goatee as soon as I left and have had it for over 5 years. For the most part I still shave the sides of my face, but every now and then I'll let it go and grow the full beard in for a couple of months.
My girlfriend actually told me doesn't want me to shave the whole way because she likes the goatee (not that I would anyway because I like it too). My hair is long now also (down to my shoulders), but that's a newer addition.
Every time I see my witness grandmother the first thing she says to me is "when are you going to shave that thing off and get a hair cut?" as she makes a face like she just smelled the most rotten fart ever. LOL!
i am so disgusted right now, more with myself than anything.. we have this big albertsons grocery store monopoly game going where i live.....the more of certain products you buy, the more tickets you receive.
not only are there instant winners, but then you enter codes on line.. ha....after 2 months, i've won $5.00 and a bottle of clorox beach.
i have spent more than i ever would have normally.
If you mean have I ever won something large, not $5.00 in bingo or a lotto scratch-off ticket or something, then yes. I won $500.00 from the Monopoly game at McDonald's about 10 - 15 years ago. Pulled off an "Instant Win" sticker from my soft drink. That's pretty much all I've ever won that was of any substantial size. I think that was all the "luck" I was allotted for this lifetime.

Well I'm a man, but I always dressed well at the assemblies. District Convention in the summer was another matter of course because of the heat, but when it came time for the Circuit Assembly, I was well dressed. Often wore the three-piece suits to the Circuit Assembly or Special Day. Only time I dressed better was for Memorial. Then I had cuff-links, a handkerchief and the WHOLE shebang. So pretentious, weren't we?
i'm not sure if it's just denial on a lot of people's part, but the reason the jws doctrine is so wacky and controlling is because they are among the few religions that really try to follow the bible!.
the bible is the culprit here in actuality, but even after someone has "wizened up" to the misguided teachings of jehovah's witnesses they still hold the bible as inspired word of god.. why don't you believe that the governing body was chosen as the faithful and discreet slave in 1918?
because the only real evidence to that fact is that they say so.
Wasn't that hard for me, really. When I questioned witness teachings I questioned Christianity in all its forms. I woke up agnostic almost (but not quite) to the point of atheist. I'm still there.
But I can see that some may be ready to question the Watchtower, but not necessarily the whole sum and parcel of Christianity. They still think of themselves as believers in Christ, they just reject that religion's teaching about him. But I went off the deep end, and left it all. The only tragedy is that there was nothing to take its place. So nothing is what I have. Sort of...
i have a female friend who has dated a guy for over a year simply for the sex.. a lot of people i know have zero desire to get married or to be in a very serious relationship but of course, they still want sex.. what do you think of this?.
I certainly don't think that many people MUST have deep feelings for someone in order to have sex with them. Sex is a primal urge and you don't have to necessarily love someone to enjoy sex.
That's very true, Min. My opinion is that sex and love are two different things entirely. I think people can choose not to have sex with someone they don't care about in order to have a more "fulfilling" experience when they do have it. But it can certainly be fun even if there are no emotional attachments.
