Oh well I'll just have to keep using the scalpel on the 'Jerkhovas' & 'Slavebuggers' then, as I really want my elderly mum & dad free from the JW's.

doesn't mean i have to like it though.. honestly, can't you make your point without this kind of infantile name calling?

I find WTwizard has some good to points to make, however a thread I'm hoping to print off for my parents is spoilt by his input.
I'm fortunate enough to have a mum & dad, long time JW's, starting to read what I print off from this discussion board & reason on it.
If WTwizard uses the kind of language he does on any thread I have to manually cut it out after printing as it would put them off of reading more.

England is poisoned for me
by highdose ini used to live in a part of england that was popular with tourists.
the kind of tourist who wanted to experiance the "real" rural england.
they would come to my town and thrill at the quaint old shops, delight in afternoon tea at the many little tea rooms.

Sorry you feel the way you do Highdose but it isn't the country of England that's at fault.
Winter can be difficult if you long for the sunshine however the wait is worthwhile as Spring in the UK is utterly wonderful.

Ireland: judge orders baby to be given blood after dramatic court hearing
by behemot ina judge ordered the baby son of a jehovah witness couple to be given a life-saving blood transfusion after a dramatic court hearing in his home in the early hours of the morning.. judge gerard hogan said barristers for temple street children's hospital arrived at his house at 1am on december 27 and argued the desperately ill three-month-old boy needed urgent treatment.. neither the infant nor his parents were identified in the high court judgment, which was published today.. judge hogan ruled that while parents have the constitutional right to raise their children to their own religious and philosophical views, the state has a vital interest in ensuring children are protected.. "but there is absolutely no doubt but that the court can intervene in a case such as this where the child's life, general welfare and other vital interests are at stake," he added.. judge hogan heard that when the baby boy was born in september 2010 he had been a twin, with a sister who did not survive.. on christmas day the infant was suffering from acute bronchiolitis when his condition deteriorated.
at one point he stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated.. he was transferred to temple street the following day where his condition became critical.
his liver was distended and by that evening his haemoglobin level plummeted to the point where a transfusion was necessary.. the judge said while the boy's parents were clearly anxious for his welfare and had allowed the use of blood products earlier that day, as committed jehovah witnesses they were steadfast in their opposition to this procedure.. the hospital made contact with the court's duty register at 10pm that night and the high court hearing was swiftly arranged.. consultant dr kevin carson, clinical director of intensive care, argued the youngster's life was in danger and there were no medical alternatives to a transfusion.. the parents were not legally represented at the judge's house, but were aware of the issues as the court had previously sanctioned a blood transfusion for another child of theirs.. judge hogan continued: "there is no doubt as to the sincerity of the religious beliefs of the parents.. "they struck me as wholesome and upright parents who were most anxious for the welfare of their child, yet steadfast in their own religious beliefs.

I can 'hear' the dubbies response now....................... 'It's better the baby died a JW not having a blood transfusion than die when older at Armageddon not being a JW.

Verifiable Former Bethelite Willing to Answer questions
by Uzzah ini am a former active poster here, former elder, former bethelite and pretty much known by people on the xjw boards since the mid 90's.
gawd that makes me sound old.. i notice that a great deal of uproar is being made by allegations of a hide in the closet alleged bethelite.
to counter the damage caused by this claim, i am happy to address any questions people may have about bethel, protocol, etc.. i was at the canada branch for 11 years, worked in multiple areas including the legal department, service desk and writing dept.

Could ''boredom'' at the Kingdom Hall be one reason why some members leave?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inyou'll find boredom where there is the absence of a good idea earl nightingale quotes (us motivational writer and author, 1921-1989).
let's forget that most members leave due to the wrong beliefs, doctrines and practices of the wts!.
i was bored out of my mind from the repetitive: talks, prayers, ministry school demonstrations, field service talks(peddle magazines),assemblies, special talks and watchtower magazine study articles.

Of course the only reason we all found it all soooo boring was because we hadn't PRE-STUDIED!!!
If only we had put a little effort into pre-studying for the meetings Jehovah would've opened up a table overflowing with an abundance of the tastiest spiritual food..................don't worry only kidding

Welcome Gemmel.
What a strange world the Watchtower world is........seems to be all about beating the sheep into submission rather than lifting them up.

The Watchtower org' really does not deserve to retain their young ones.
The needs of children & teenagers have been & are ignored 90% of the time at the meetings.
The org' has NEVER seen it as their responsibility to 'entertain' young minds, always maintaining it is the parents responsibility.
I wont hold my breath for any changes.
The only 'life' the Watchtower organisation is interested in saving is its own.

Arizona massacre -- Where does JW line of self defense get crossed?
by FatFreek 2005 injehovah's witnesses are peaceful folks, just ask them.
having been one till many years ago i used to know the stock answers to questions about that fine line between being peaceable and defending oneself.. this came to front and center during the past several days with that horrific arizona shooting where some 7 folks have lost their lives.
it could have been more if it weren't for several onlookers ganging up on the perpetrator after he emptied the first magazine of bullets, getting ready for his spare magazine.. these onlookers instinctively became aggressive and restrained the perpetrator, one of them choking the man when needed, etc., and etc.. heroes, all of them, in my opinion.. none of them remained passive, thinking that this man wasn't really a threat to them personally so why get involved.

The Watchtower org' makes JW's impotent in violent situations by twisting their minds into mental knots.
If I saw a filthy rapist attacking a child I hope I could kill the bastard!!

JWs who think they are always receiving blessings from Jehovah make me mad!
Why do they think they are soooo special just because they spend their time doing what the borg tells them to do?
Little children are suffering intolerable pain & cruelty everyday, yet the good lord in his wisdom thinks it better to provide a few bruised veggies to some self righteous prig...........
Jeesh give me strength.
