Ray,
Did the COBOE have you say a concluding prayer? That is usually the unspoken sign that a brother resigned instead of being removed.

for me it was many things.
most concerned certain teachings that invloved genders, children, sex, sexuality and sexual orientations, disfellowshipping, apostates, blood, rape, and few other things, as well as the jw's unloving attitude toward so many people..
I know I commented earlier, but in a simple sentence...
Being forced by the threat of banishment and shunning to pretend to believe something I knew to be false.

Being an Elder and realizing that the things that I was supposed to teach didn't make sense from a logical or a scriptural sense. Realizing that I had to pretend I wholeheartedly believed it all until the Governing Body changed their minds.
Speaking to the legal dept about a molestation case and seeing that the Branch just wanted to cover their ass instead of protecting the congregation.
it is a pleasure to read some of the topics posted in this forum.
finally i decided to register.
i have now the certainty that when i am sitting down at the kh listening to teachings i do not accept i am not alone in this world, maybe thousands feel the same way.
Welcome to the Board. You are definitely not alone! There are a lot of really good people on this Board who are in the same position as yourself.

the lack of intellectually stimulating material within the jw religion right now is astounding.
there is clearly a lack of spiritually dense material and a surplus of ridiculous, childish babble.
the regular "food" that jws are being fed is illustratively equivalent to pureed baby food.
Yes Brother Massey, "Soundness of mind" is important in all areas of our dress and grooming.
"I desire all to adorn themselves with modesty and soundness of mind" not only applies to our dear sisters and their choice of jewelry and hair styles, but by extension to brothers and the way they tie their shoes. It has been noted that some of our brothers have followed the world's faddish manner of double tying their shoe laces thus drawing undue attention to their feet. This might seem like a small matter, but as faithful servants, we want to always keep in mind the words of Jesus, ' He who is faithful in least will also be faithful in much". Rather than relying on the world's faddish styles to keep our feet protected, we should always keep our feet shod with the good news.
if you are an elder or an ex-elder please add a comment.
i hope that the governing body will see this.
it is too bad it has to be on an anonymous forum.
Welcome to the Board Mr. Dark Knight.
I think that there are many of us in the same position. I know that this letter has been sent to Bethel in a few forms. I hope that it catches the attention of some sincere ones there. I think that I can see cracks start to appear in the organizational leadership. Many people who are still Witnesses are recognizing the fact that the Governing Body is a sham. I believe that there is another Ray Franz currently serving on the Body. If there is an honest man still in a leadership position I encourage him to stand up for what is right and expose the fraud within the organization.

i was inspired by a recent thread i know i aint gunna crumble the wt, but a girl can dream to look at the effect we as individuals are having on the watchtower society.. 3dogs1husband quoted a story to show that even helping only one person is worth it.. it is encouraging to note that the one person you may have helped has lead to millions being helped, due to the power of compounding growth.. compounding growth is well illustrated by the rice on a chessboard problem.
if you start with 1 grain of rice on square one, and double it to 2 on the second, 4 on the third, 8 on the fourth, by the last (64th) square there would be 18,446,744,073,709,551,615 grains of rice.. likewise, if you help one person out of the grip of the watchtower this year, then next year you help one more and they help one, in a few years that is going to have a formidable result on the number of jehovahs witnesses.
look at the following statistics.
Part of the problem is that the Society values effort more than results. The hours are a measure of the effort expended, but the baptism numbers are a reflection of the results. Door to Door doesn't work anymore, especially when someone can look up Witnesses online. It is crazy that the Branch can't see it.
What is more credible to a potential convert?
1. Looking up information online about the religion an being able to see an objective argument for or against the teachings of the WTS. .....or
2. Simply listening and believing the lumpy, frumpy, barely literate, middle aged lady towing around a 4 year old that shows up at your door to deliver "good news" about how bad the world is?
People aren't as gullible or uneducated in the Western world as the WTS believes. The problem they have is that they have used the door to door ministry to set them apart from all of the other religions. It is what defines them. So we will see a continuing trend of more hours with less results.
JWFACtS makes a good point about the effectiveness of talking to active Witnesses and getting them to think about their faith. I firmly believe that 90% of Witnesses have some sort of doubt about a teaching or a practice of the religion. The trick is getting them to feel comfortable enough to express themselves out loud. Many times when you mention something that doesn't make sense, the brother or sister you are talking to will agree. They were just looking for an opportunity to express themselves to a like minded person.
All good things. It feels as if there is momentum building.

Anon, thank you for your work on this campaign. It is my sincere hope that some who recieve the letter and the message will realize that they are not alone in having legitimate questions about the teachings of the Governing Body. The organization is bleeding responsible men, who have stepped down due to matters of conscience. I know of 5 in addition to myself who have stepped down in the last few months.
The roof is on fire.

without specifics being mentioned as to what it is......(to avoid tipping off certain lurkers).. how many people know about the upcoming summer long campaign?
please use this thread to confirm receipt of your campaign invitation.
take care.
Good for nothing B
Wow I never realized that this campaign was a fulfillment of Bible prophecy.
I think that there are many brothers and sisters out there who see the corruption within the organization and want to stand up for what is right. It is funny that as a born in Witness you are taught to stand firm in your convictions and share what you know with others. That is what this campaign is about.
There are quite a few of us within the organization that want to expose to all people the truth about the Watchtower Society. The fact that we are Elders and Servants helps to lend to the credibility of these efforts. Sure the Governing Body will use ad hominem attacks against those of us who are dissenters, but at the end of the day they can't support their record of false doctrine, false prophecy, and unscriptural practices enforced on the minds and hearts of Witnesses with a stick made of threats and fear. They have nothing real to offer. They know it and this campaign and other efforts will show them that many within their "perfect" organization see them for what they are.

could we be doing more brothers and sisters?
i'm sure i'm not alone in wishing that there was more we could do to hasten the demise of the wtbts and to speed up the exodus of it's members.
and i'm sure i'm not alone in thinking of possible ways to do this.. one which i have been considering lately is to make use of the fact that many who leave the organization actually leave the area, move away, and start a new life.
I am fading away and working on some family members. They agree with many of the points I have brought up. What is interesting is they have said " are there others out there who see the hypocrisy within the organization? How come they are not speaking out?" This campaign will reach some of those who are waiting to see that they are not alone in realizing that the Governing Body has fired Jesus as King and is sitting on his throne. Once you realize that you are not the only one who sees this it is empowering.
