Field Service, Anyone?

the human brain is a non-stop chattering machine.

it is constantly evaluating, making decisions and judgments.

there is not a human being alive that isn't an abject hypocrite nearly every day.

You guys would have hated service with me.

Coffee breaks? HA! Maybe if everyone in the car group had run out of literature.

Stopping door to door work early for return visits? HA! I put everyone who were doing return visits into one car group at the beginning of service.

One time I even refused to take a sister with a daughter to where the young girl could use the bathroom so she peed in her pants right on the corner in the neighborhood.

I can only hope there is no hell for me to burn in for that one.

HINT for current witnesses: NEVER go out in service with the pioneer brother with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder who is also overcompensating for his homosexual desires. You will regret it!!!

Long Intro From A Long Timer

i am a new to posting on this board though i have been actively reading your posts the past while and i thank some of you for the interesting viewpoints that you have verbalized and that i have enjoyed thinking on.

i am still an active jw, in fact an elder of 20 years standing hence my need to limit information about my personal circumstances.

i have served in a number of countries in europe as a pioneer and elder over the past three decades.

Motives are what count?

Hitler was trying to protect the German people.
The slaughter of the American Indian was to establish a free country.
The enslavement of Africans was to expose them to Christianity.

What a ludicrous hypothesis.

The governing body utterly convinced that they are here to save mankind?

Possibly, but doubtful. From my experiences at Bethel, they are running a business and run quite a tight ship. My time at Bethel, including my experiences with the governing body were nothing like the paradise I dreamed about in boyhood.

But, I agree that they are probably no worse that any other group, ruled by the desire to promote the group.

The manmade world is screwed, go for a walk in the woods while you still can.

since you aren't jws anymore, what are your beliefs now?

have you rejected the bible as a whole?

I am a lifeist. Independent spiritually in that I am seeking truth on my own and not in the company of an organized group.

Ethically, I am basically a golden rulist. I try to treat people kindly, honestly and fairly.

Beyond that I think rules are superfluous.

I am against anti aging for the simple reason that I believe the earth belongs to all the inhabitants, not just human.

I am also realistic to realize that my position will never win. The earth will eventually be filled with humans and domestic animals and after that just humans and protein plants.

Soylent Green, here we come, but hey we can live so much longer.
