do you want contact from the other side?
It would very nice to see some sort of evidence for the existence of ANY spirit creature. What IS the "other side"? Have you been there? What can you tell us of this invisible realm?
if you believe strongly in god, maybe no demons bug you because that would CONVINCE you about god.
This statement is highly contradictive. Could you rephrase, please?
no proof keeps things relying on faith and we all know how strong faith can and can't be.
So an almighty god who expects me to believe in him, worship him, serve him, thinks it is wise to withhold any and all evidence of his existence simply to test whether I will put blind faith in him based on a man or men telling me I should?
What if a man came to you and said, "a very powerful rich and generous man I know wants to give you a job." The offer of payment is significant in relation to the work required, and you accept this job offer.
Two weeks go by and you have done all that was asked by the intermediary. You are not paid, and so you inquire to the intermediary about the agreed upon pay. The man says, "your employer loves you and appreciates your hard work and payment shall be forthcoming very soon".
You believe him.
Two more weeks go by and you are getting suspicious. You ask the intermediary about your pay for the work you have been doing. Again, he assures you that your employer is aware of your situation, is very powerful, rich, generous, and influential, knows that you are hungry and homeless, he cares for you, and if you just hang in there, payment will be coming soon.
Another week goes by. You approach the intermediary with the same issues. But this time, however, you want to talk to your very powerful, influential, rich and generous employer about your pay man to man. The intermediary makes excuses- he is currently on a cloud in outter space watching, loving you, caring about you, and he simply asks that you have faith that he exists, that he loves you, and will do what he told me to tell you he will do for you.
You are now very suspicious. What? I demand proof that this employer of mine even exists and is not something or someone YOU made up to get me to work without pay.
How much longer would you continue doing the work asked of you? How long would it really take a rational person to figure out that no proof means this employer most likely doesn't even exist in the first place? Who, in their right mind, would continue believing he does exist and not walk away in utter disgust at the hoax?

A Major Break Through!
by headisspinning ini just wanted to let you all know that i have had a major break through with my mom.. we have hashed everything out and she not only apologized for hurting us, but she also said she understands why we've made the decisions that we've made.. and best of all?
she is going to try to help us both get our kids back.. she had no idea of all the stuff going on with our ex spouses and she's very upset about it.. she said that she accepts where we are at in regard to the religion and although she does hope we might change our minds down the road, she just wants us to be happy.. at this point she still feels she needs to respect the disfellowshipping arrangement and i'm not pressuring her about that.
after all, rome wasn't built in a day and i would say major progress has been made here.. just wanted to let you guys know where things are at right now and a big thank you for all of your support, advice and care through this ordeal..

Michelle, many people, especially religious people who believe in evil spirits, believe that sleep paralysis is actually demon attacks. Those who believe in visitors from other planets believe they have been abducted by aliens. Sleep paralysis can cause hallucinations, from mildly weird to terrifyingly surreal. My SP hallucinations ran the entire gammut, and came frequently during times of increased stress.
This is why I no longer believe in the paranormal/spirits.
I finally faced all my fears and did everything the WTS and the Bible warned us not to. I dabbled in spiritism. I oijied, I dared, tempted, provoked, begged, bargained, demanded Satan and the demons through seances, ghost hunting and evp sessions at locations reputed to be highly active with spirits . . . nothing. Absolutely nothing. No voices, no shadow figures, no apparitions, no demon attacks in my sleep, no bad luck, no trouble at home (as in increased anger and stress between family members as a result of me bringing the demons home, lol), no moving objects, no knocking, banging, moaning . . . no nada. It is all a bunch of lunacy.
Peace

The fear of demons fueled the anxiety, the anxiety caused a severe speech impediment and frequent sleep paralysis.
Sleep paralysis is f*cked up too! I'm sorry you had(have) it. Long ago they literally used to cry "witch" to people who had the guts to explain the symptoms. -Sab
I no longer suffer from that kind of anxiety. No more sleep paralysis. It was bad, however. I would hallucinate all kinds of things during these episodes. I would see lizzard-like humanoids standing at my bedside, hear taunting wispers in my ears that would turn into violent screams, feel very heavy invisible bodies on top of mine smothering me and holding me down. I would think the demons were attacking me and I would try and cry out for Jehovah, but it felt like something was shoving an invisible fist down my throat prevent air and sound. Anyway, Jehovah never scatted the demons away when I would lay there paralyzed praying to him, and if I could manage to get sound out of my vocal chords and cry out to him, the demons never ran away trembling in fear of the holy name, lol. It's almost as if I could hear them laughing and mocking me. What a bunch of crud.
Terrifying.
Like you said, and said very well, Sab, " . . . you never know how weighed down you are until you give something up . . ."
When I was forced to finally let go of belief in these invisible entities, the anxiety decreased tremendously. I have not had an attack of sleep paralysis in years. My speech disfluency has dimished considerably, my ability to think and reason has increased, and like you, I found things inside of me, personal power as it were, I never dreamed I would be able touch.
Your vid really spoke to me. Good job.

I had early onset anxiety from the whole demon paranoia tactic used by the JW's. It fuh hucked me up. I was five years-old when I had my first freak out over the fear of demons.
The fear of demons fueled the anxiety, the anxiety caused a severe speech impediment and frequent sleep paralysis. I was told and believed that the episodes of sleep paralysis were actually demons attacking me in my sleep.
The belief that I was being attacked by demons in my sleep meant that I did not have Jehovah's holy spirit and protection and caused untold guilt inside of me. The only conclusion I could draw was that I was utterly worthless, bad, rejected by Jehovah since he was not protecting me from Satan and the demons.
Yes, it is sort of unhealthy, this belief that unseen spirit forces are always watching and have some sort of effect on humans, whether it be god or satan, angels or demons, ghosts or gargoyles.
And you are right. I did not know how burdened down I was until I was able to give up this belief system.

Slandered At the Circuit Assembly & My Letter To My Mother
by headisspinning inon saturday, my ex husband went on the platform at the one day circuit assembly and slandered me in front of 800+ people.. my jw family is even up in arms because he basically lied and ruined any last bits of my reputation that i had left, the worst part is this was elder sanctioned.. i am really exhausted from all the upheaval so i will get right to the point.
the following is what i sent to my mother:.
hi mom.

What your husband did was inexcusable. Forgivable? hmmm
Enough is enough.
My JW xwife kicked me out mainly because I was disfellowshipped for smoking, backed up by the elders and all her friends, OUR friends. She was withholding my children from me saying I was a spiritual danger to them, and demanded I get reinstated before she would consider reconciling with me. I was jumping through hoops for a while trying to become the spiritual man she was demanding of me. I finally told her to screw herself, and got me a girlfriend. But the entire time she was having an affair with one of my friends. When our divorce was final, she married him . . . and the kicker is that they managed to keep the affair and their subsequent disfellowshipping hidden from me for a long time. They forbade the kids to tell me, lol.
Many people leave the organization of JW's looking ahead through tear-dimned eyes and carrying a heavy heart. It does get better, though, head. I don't know how old your children are, but the one of the biggest reliefs comes when they are grown and you no longer have to deal with custody, visitation, and all that. Negotiating all of that with a JW parent "in good standing" is an ongoing nightmare until the kids come of age.
Thoughts are with you. good luck.
