Today we visited someone and their house was unheated. We stayed over an hour. It's cold here in the UK right now, snow in places, frost in our area. I kept my coat on but I was still very cold. So...I got in the car with the heater on...... when I got home say, ten mins later...I could barely walk. I can't bend without extreme pain. I've taken analgesics and even anti inflammatories but it's getting worse. I'm baffled now. Could it be an arthritis? I'm a mature lady...can't think what else it could be, but it seems a severe response?

My 66th birthday is today!!

once i was little boy in fort worth, texas living with my maw maw and paw paw and mommy.. then, i was an 18 year old 6'4'' skinny 165lb religious nut being dipped in a baptismal during a local assembly.. suddenly, i was 20 and listening to a jail cell door clang behind me as a conscientious objector.. wow!

23 years old and put on parole until my 6 years sentence was ended!

i got married to a nice jw girl and had 3 kids!.

I am new here and need help...or just a listening ear

my husband and i have two small children, one of which recently became an unbaptised publisher and joined the school.

my husband is an elder and firmly committed to our family and loves me deeply as i love him.

i would like to find a way for all of us to fade away as we have family in the organization that we do not want to lose.

Hello and welcome to the forum. I'm sorry you've been ill treated in the congregation. So many have, its so sad. The WTBS has proven itself to be a false Christ/religion, I know that may be shocking to hear but when you continue to research you will find it to be a fact. This is why your prayers are leading you out. A governing body member felt the same and wrote a book "Crisis of Conscience" which has helped so many of us. You will need to be careful, as you realise, in helping your husband to break out. Questions are good, they will make him think, and you can't be punished for having questions. I would suggest you reduce your association with the WTBS as much as you can while you think and research and pray. Use whatever excuses you need. JWFacts is a brilliant resource site for info if you need more. My thought and prayers are with you.

i recently left the wtb$ and the non-jw friends of mine are all inviting me to their church.

i politely decline the invite saying i'm not ready.

I felt the same way as you do. I couldn't put my trust in men again, and after 5 years I still feel the same. Jgnat is giving you good advice, you will need time, time to begin healing from the abuse of the WTBS, time to begin enjoying a 'normal' life, time to deal with the grief of the years youve lost, time to evaluate everything. It's a journey, that much is clear from the experiences on here. Some lose faith in God, some don't. I have maintained a strong relationship through prayer and study which I still very much enjoy. Try to keep your mind and your options open now that you don't have to answer for your thoughts and feelings. It's good to have you and your mother here, I hope you benefit as much as I have from this forum, it's a good place to get support with some wise and lovely people to help you.

what takes away salvation

i am certain that the watchtower society is of the devil , they tell so many lies to cover up their false doctrines and satan is the father of all lies .

so logically somewhere in those false doctrines there is something that prevents the rank and file from receiving salvation as satan works so hard to keep them in "the truth " does anyone else agree with that statement ?

if so, what is it in their teaching that keeps them from the free gift of salvation that comes by the grace of god alone ?

i have had to make some very difficult decisions in recent days.

in one way i feel good about takeing care of myself and my mother who is on her dead bed in the room next to me.

mom has live with me since 2005 and started to make her journey to the other side on christmas day.

Just to add, strategy isn't for deceit, there's no doubt it's a cult, controlling people, but those ensnared to the mind control can't escape easily so tactics are useful to help them out.

Ok. She needs to be discreet and careful, that's the first thing. Tell her to read Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz, and to drip feed her elder husband as per Steve Hassan's Cult Behaviour Control books. She can enlighten him using the scriptures and the WT history, so that he doesn't realise how much she disagrees with the GB. Good luck to her, and well done to you for helping a friend to break free from the cult.
