That's brilliant and congratulations to you. Nothing else did it for me like actually completing the deal on property. Well done you - enjoy !!

we bought land!.
some of you might remember a delema i had a couple of months ago over buying a house... and gave lots of great advice.. well, we ended up buying a large block of land (modern developers would cram 8 houses on it) one hour outside the city in a really nice little town of only 250 people.
the block has an 1860 ruin on it that looks like an old school or church.
That's brilliant and congratulations to you. Nothing else did it for me like actually completing the deal on property. Well done you - enjoy !!

a year ago, mj suddenly died.
for years, multitudes of people said michael jackson was a "sicko" a "wacko", a "child molester" and an "addict".. once he died, the man was glorified by people, the media and his family.. what did you think about michael?.....personally, i thought he was an eccentric ultra-gifted artist who was childlike and brilliant.
i was never convinced that he was a child molester but i will say i thought his behavior was "weird" with kids (and adults)..
I thought he was ridiculous.

after an entire family in my cong went apostate followed by several others the elders went in to a witch hunt.. every missed meetings was questioned, rumours were spread like wild fire!.
i wish now i had followed the apostates out then....
The impression they give of apostates isnt people who have issues with some GB insistence on dogma that goes against scripture etc...no the impression is of 'ones' who have as good as turned to Devil worship itself....its a term they bandy about to serve their own purposes.

how many here (who are no longer jws) believe that servants of god must be politically neutral?
i ask, because there are many regular posters who do not participate in political discussions -- ever.
there could be a wide variety of explanations, but i would like to know if any of you refrain from political discussions and political activity because of your religious beliefs?.
leavingwt..Interesting questions here...before my involvement in the Org I suppose I would put myself on the side of the 'working classes'...and wanted to make a difference if I could...since leaving and meeting my husband my interest in renewed...he is a very political animal and currently doing a dissertation on the Miners Strike of 84/5 here in UK under Thatcher's iron rule....
I kind of feel that if we are to be in subjection to the Superior Authorities then when given the chance we should voice our preference for our ruling government...?? And I hate oppression of any kind ...and moreso now since the experience of the Org...

i am inactive and trying to fade as some of you know.
since my family in still in, i've been recieving "we me you" cards from the congo i was going to.
i have also recieved a few calls from the congo i move from that's out of the area.
It seems cold though to not return the guy's call cause what if he dies soon? Hard not to feel guilty.
I can understand your mixed feelings here but I agree with the no contact advice...to compromise though and help you feel better what about sending him a card wishing him well with his ill health and use that opportunity to say that you're not up to meeting with any people at present? and you'll contact him if you need to?

just been on facebook and saw a friend of a "friend" had a truth box which is anonymous.
i sent a little message to them!.
probably will get ignored and they will think that the evil apostates are out to get them but still, it made me feel like i'm getting over the whole witless thing.. so.....what was the first "apostate" thing you ever did?.
Googled 'Ex JWs'...

i guess it's about time to post on what happened over the weekend.
i was telling my old pal jamiebowers about it and she thought it was hilarious.
thought i might retell the tale on a thread of its own.. so, i dropped my wife off at the kh for her cult recruitment activities.
I feel sad for you. Going back for more humiliation isnt the answer. I hope things improve with your wife, I really do, you obviously love her and are hurting. Sending you good thoughts.

bloodguilt a doctrine that really annoyed me when i was in.
like i was responsible for who jehovah destroyed..
Hated the idea that some really good kind ppl who seemed to love God so much would not survive Armageddon unless they became JWs...stopped believing they would after a while.
Same with ppl who hadnt had a witness ...decided that if God was love he'd look after them.
Really despised the power crazed elder types ...got more and more disillusioned by them...and eventually they were what made me give up on the Organisation.
Despite being a 'strong' family for so long...I hated the snobby 'class' structure within the Org...like Bethelites Pioneers CO's & DO's and their friends, Elders and their families, etc etc... awful...
