  Have become seriously angry ...all of a sudden...

  another thread has set me off ...the one about anniversaries ...and i read an extract that blondie posted on there....suddenly i am soooo bl**dy furious...so indignant!!!!.

  why did we allow a bunch of men to dictate to us not only what we believed, but even how we parented our kids,and then even how we spent our free time?????

  how could we allow this stuff?????.

  Thank you all you lovely people on here...the words you've taken the time to write are wonderful gifts to me. I'm just back from a holiday so just catching up with this thread....wanted to clarify...I have a new life a wonderful new hubby and I'm back at Uni (as a more mature student lol) so I kinda thought I'd run the gamut of the anger ...but obviously not cos I'm sure it'll surface again..

  I dont think I'll ever heal completely because my family is broken and realistically now won't ever be mended but hey ho...life goes on....

  just had an anniversay card from my a friend who wrote on it "may jehovah be with you and return you to his flock.".

  it has made me feel sick to the pit of my stomach.

  why is it bothering me so much?.

  finally read Crisis of Conscience

  i recently finished reading crisis of conscience.

  in short, it was one of the most important books i've ever read, even considering that i left the kh 13 years ago.

  i honestly cannot see how anyone could read it and still maintain that they believe in the wts religion--have any of you ever known someone to read it and actually still believe and be happy with the jw religion?

  I loved the book...it shook me up and distressed me but only because of what it exposed in such an honest fair way. I'm into his second one now and its heavier going/deeper but so so valuable ...another must read...

  "Judicial committee"

  it strongly bothers, upsets and irritates me that they call it judicial committee!!!

  as if it's a real supreme court with real lawyers and judges.

  are they even aloud to call it judicial???.

  in george orwell's novel 'nineteen eighty-four' the capitulation of the principal protagonist is portrayed in his willingness to assent to the proposition that two and two make five.

  once he had denied objective reality, his mental conquest was complete and he was no longer truly the master of his own mind.

  nineteen eighty-four is in many ways, a very depressing read.. a charge commonly leveled at jehovah's witnesses is that the type of mind control envisioned by orwell has been and continues to be used on them.

  The BEST way to deal with elders......to maybe even get them to 'think'

  those who leave because of conscious, want to serve god and see how so many things going against the scriptures vs lost faith in everything and not gonna bother trying to figure out what to do.

  ( i say this because those of the 2nd group, won't ever get w/ anyone who are 100% convinced in the truth and mental blocks are way up, any who don't believe anything, what they have to say is not even worth considering to them ).

  i truly am for conscience reasons, and am experiencing an enlightenment that i can't even describe or try to teach, one must just go through it to understand.
