  Based on Teel's JC thread why dont we all sue them?

  teel's thread re his jc and his lawyer's advice has made me think....why dont all of us disfellowshipped ones sue the org for defamation of character????.

  imagine if we could find a lawyer who'd be prepared to start a suit against them on behalf of us all?.

  any thoughts?.

  short review: the elders "invited" me to a friendly chat with 3 elders.

  i told them since it's about my official status with jw's i request an official invitation in writing.

  they denied it, and went ahead and kept the jc without me, notifying me that i'm df'd and if i want to appeal, send it in writing (btw: .

  Mom in hospital, WHAT TO DO?

  it seems that i have quite a dilemma: i just found out that my mother is in the hospital.

  she does not speak to me or my sister.

  she is told by the people who publishes the books and magazines that she sells (jehovahs witnesses) that she cannot speak to us or eat a meal with us.

  I know Jamie hunny, I know, its so hard, I've got the same probs with my adult kids....its just that the Org makes us feel that we cant and thats a disgrace and so unfair to us...sadly rejection is sometimes all we'll get....Big hugs to you and your brother.

  i noticed that in the midst of all these witness topics that there were a few that talked about this other god and i had a question for the person who seems to be the leader of those believing in this kind of god.

  to the leader whom i believe is called aguest i have a question.

  JoJoM - Welcome to the forum, I do hope it helps you to sort out your feelings and opinions. AGuest is a lovely person with a lot of knowledge and I'm sure she'll respond to you. In the meantime start talking to the god you know about how mad you are ....try not to rush into replacing the Org with another religion until you're certain about it....?

  Its extraordinary how we all think after the cult.....my husband is an atheist who's always despised religions and the control and oppression they have used over people. Meeting and marrying me has only reaffirmed his disdain esp for JWs of course - but his 'take' on the Disfellowshipped/Shunning situation is quite different.

  His reasoning is very simple. There are NO, repeat NO restrictions upon US at all.

  This means that we're free, completely free, to call or mail or speak or even visit, anyone we please ! We are no longer under any obligation or need to live under their rules ! For instance, if I happen to see a witness I was friends with in public, my hubby suggests that there's no reason whatsoever that I shouldnt speak to them. And recently I've begun adopting the attitude. I spoke to a dear friend's husband on the phone as if nothing was wrong between us and he was just fine.....and I'm sure many would respond similarly.....

  Of course, by being this assertive for our rights to be treated as humans we do face possible rejection....so take care about what you can handle...but for me I feel it gives me back my rights to myself...instead of living with their thinking that I'M not allowed to speak/visit /whatever to people I care about. Hope it helps a little?

  i know this topic has been discussed here before, but i still cease to be amazed at the spending that the wt does to build it's facilities.

  this is an issue that jws like to brag about.

  today i received an email regarding the open house of the new casa grande az assembly hall.

  I worked on a big refurb on the Manchester (UK) Assy Hall on the RBC team on the purchasing dept during the 90's - in that dept I saw the vast quantities of money spent on extras like a real gold painted ceiling for the huge place.....

  Every circuit assembly our group of congs had to find around £5000 to cover a weekend's expenses to be there...constant appeals from the platform to put the money in the boxes.....and yet the society owned it?? All very questionable...

  Finally! We bought a house...

  some of you may remember the drama we have had first trying to buy land, then an old community hall.

  both didn't work out.... well to day we signed our mortgage papers at the bank!

  it has been 4 weeks since we signed a contract and it took till today to finalize it...banks sure do drag the chain!.
