I love the Sunday Symposium....thats the type I probably would have been giving a talk on.....
My only question is: "Why......you don't?"
How do JW's continue to believe they are emulating Jah with their conduct?
Strange....meet stranger.
2-day circuit assembly .
theme:.
"you are no part of the world" .

i hate to ask you good folks to jump around but the first post in the thread below explains why i'm going into the jc meeting, hence the basis for my questions below.... http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/198636/1/reply-to-judicial-committee-question-thenoblelodge.
i have no idea how to present my witnesses.
they've already agreed to show up.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: going to a JC thinking you can influence anything is a waste of time. A TOTAL waste of time.
They have ALL the power. They won't let you say or do anything.....and it they don't like something you say or do, they can just cut it short and DF you.....
I served for 17 years..... I'm telling you for lots of experience that most of them show up ill prepared, have not compassion and are more concerned about what bar they are going to have a beer at after the meeting.
Seriously.....I wouldn't even bother going.
jehovah could read the hearts of david and bath-sheba and see their genuine repentance.
taking.
such a factor into consideration, he judged them accordingly, in a merciful and loving manner.. .
LOL LOL
Oh god....AGONUS......that was so damn funny....made my day.
ok.... had a good discussion with a jdub friend.
good friend.. and i gave the argument, "hey.., loyalty to god trumps loyalty to organization.".
basically, that when your concious disagrees with "god's organization" that you should stand up and say something.. then he gave me a good point about king david and how saul was the organization at the time but since it was god's appointed one - that david didn't work to "overthrow" saul.. thoughts?.
Its absurd reasoning....and if they were a true Bible student....or hell, just had some common sense....they would understand the difference.
First....Kind David fled "God's visible organization" on several occasions. With King Saul.....with Absalom.... in each case, it wasn't that David was disloyal to JEHOVAH...... he simply had the BALLS to get away from something that was WRONG.
The key lesson is this: he got out of a corrupt 'organization'...but made no effort to fight against it. He could have whacked Saul on several occasions.....but believed it was Jehovah's job to do so (See Romans 12)....... he simply "went away" and hid.....from guess who....THOSE WITHIN the "organization' that made every effort to hunt him down and harm him!!
Sound familiar?
Oh yes....its a DIRECT parallel to what goes on today. You can't simply 'exit'....they come after you...... but they are entirely too blind to see that it is THEM that are acting like Saul and Absalom.
David wasn't loyal to an organization.........he was loyal to GOD HIMSELF.
i'm really curious how many of those df'd have ever received a yearly visit........ .
Amazing. It just blows my mind.
YES....they have a letter from "the Society" to all BOE's that they are to visit DF'd people in their territory once a year......
I have yet to find ANYWHERE in the U.S. or Canada where this is taking place.
Good luck if your inactive or lost. Your only chance is if you live close to a Starbucks so they can swing by your place and count their time following the coffee break............ it gets them that extra 30 minutes.
I'm still trying to imagine what Jesus would say to these guys....... "nevermind the 1 that strayed.....hang out with the 99 that didn't....."

i wanted to be an one of the brothers the elders took under there wing, but i had to much baggage ( reproved 3 times and currently d.f ).
yes i've seen elders take m.s'es and turn them into elders.
i had a friend who was an m.s an elder took him and now he's an elder.
Gal. 6:10
Challenge an elder to read and do that. The VAST majority will not.
Then have them read Ezekiel 34...... look familiar?
i found it amazing being raised in the witnesses to see exactly who got appointed sometimes as an elder.
it seemed that the criteria in my opinion had more to do with getting 10 hours a month in field service, answering at meetings, carrying microphones as a ministerial servant, or handling the magazine or literature counter !
in doing these " functions " and attending meetings on a regular basis - a man was thought to be considered " spiritually strong " and qualify to be an elder and serve on judicial committees judging people's personal problems.
I served for 17 years.
I've been one of those 'appointing' others.
Trust me when I tell you that you just need 10 hours a month.
I've served with many that were just alcoholics. Others that liked porn.
I would never allow my child to sit with an elder. Never.
most of us either when exiting the witnesses or after exiting have certain beliefs/practices that bothered us so much we could not suport this organization anymore.
what were your breaking points ?
here were a few of mine :.
Christianity Ala Carte
They pick and choose what is important....what is worthy of discipline...
Convenient application of the Mosaic Law....though completely abolished by the Son of God.
There insane way of applying scriptures would allow a man to beat his wife, right?
Afterall, when married, the Bible says you are 'one flesh'...and Paul said "to lead pummel your body and lead it as a slave"
Its Christianity Ala Carte......steal from that, leave that there, steal from that, leave that there.......
Adultery and Slander............same verse..... one gets a JC, the other gets ignored.
after reading on the way out's thread about his mom explaining the generation overlap to him it kicked this idea into my head to make this thread .
i thought it would be helpful to see if anybody here has had jw relatives or friends try to explain this " generation overlap " theory to you as a faded or inactive witness and what happened in the conversations.
so please feel free to post your experiences.
Are you kidding?
I love my family more than anything.....and they me....
.....but even they admit they would have a tough time explaining the difference between Moses and Noah.....much less this science fiction.
