  many here have asked how the average witness in australia is taking the news of the arc findings and conclusions.. is it affecting them?.

  sorry to say, hardly any are even aware of the facts.

  If publishers heard what elders talk about in meetings......they way they make fun of some people......they would never consider going to them for anything. Especially how they speak about depressed, single sisters.

  I'm sure any other men on here that served as an elder can expound on that......

  there has been a lot of talk about the "new light" concerning the generation teaching.

  it's been a major part of the prophecy concerning the last days and of course since jws are the only ones able to decipher and understand prophecy it is of great importance to get this main prophecy right.

  Anyone that listened to this 'teaching' pounded into their head for decades....... and is still around in 2016 remaining loyal to that organization.......bares some responsibility.

  i have been df'd for 9yrs as of july 31 (yay me!).

  so as i have written about previously in other posts, my whole family (parents + sister) made the choice to treat me as if i do not exist, and i have accepted it.

  last summer they made a blatant show of it as our family reunion, in that they would walk right by me and not say one word...prompting our extended family to question their actions.

  Thousands of JW's watched that video and got absolutely nothing out of it.

  They then went into the parking lot and drove to a local buffet.

  They spoke about the convention and how encouraging it was......all the while, not able to share one new educational fact.

  The next day........... they went to work.....and their brain said "what convention?'

  what do you think will happen when they start knocking on doors and telling people that their families will be killed in armageddon because they did not believed in jehovah.

  They'll never have to do it.

  My god, if people that were taught they were living in the "last days" and that 'this generation would not pass away' are still attending meetings............it shows they don't have to do anything. The majority of these people are dumb enough to follow anything.....even if that 'generation' is all dead and it has been 102 years since Jesus took the throne.

  Why would they ever have to do anything other than what they're doing? They have captured the same people that network/pyramid schemes capture.

  my husband's gone to his meeting and i'm catching up with folks here on our forum.

  i'm sure i'm having a better time :) anyway, was just following some posts regarding the un and there happened to be a copy of a magazine article stating brothers wouldn't want to be joining the "y" because it was "christian".

  i think this was back in the 1950's (maybe not).

  You could apply their stupid, intellectually dishonest reasoning to almost anything:

  Cars are dangerous, should you stop driving one?

  You can burn your hand on the stove, should you stop using it?

  Makeup/"cosmetics" were only worn by pagan women; why do 'sisters' use it?

  Haircuts? Beards? Not supposed to to trim according the Bible

  Jehovah's Witnesses don't think. They are literally intellectually brain dead. And they like it. You really can't help them until they decide to help themselves.

  Thank you Millie and Steve......good tidbits....exactly what I was looking for. I saw post from a JW that still speaks to me last night on FB.....she was telling everyone to bring a tissue.

  I have to get over the frustration of seeing people I love fall for such intellectually insulting cult.

  Thanks I've seen all of Lloyd's work leading up to the convention.....I was hoping for more first person accounts, experiences, observations, etc.
