What the hell is an SB VBS?:Guessing: Southern Baptist Vacation Bible School
Ooooohhhh...I thought it had something to do with Volley Ball. Thanks for clearing that up. lisa
well it is official....i am out!.
got a call this morning to confirm usual social activities.. enrolled both kiddos in vbs at the various denominations locally (they all work together to have a vbs every other week throughout summer).. 3 jw mommies are allowing their kids to attend the sb vbs next week.. no invites to the dc, only pleas to drive up and co-host the hooky pool party.. i feel kinda guilty since i know many damn near everyone has have had such horrific experiences leaving.. i wanna tell everyone thank you!
because without this site and the fellowship i would still be a captive.

anybody have any favorites?
.
i like a big sirloin cooked medium rare with a baked potato butter & sour cream.. .
Corn-on-the-cob cooked on the grill..yum yum
Soak unshucked ears of corn in tub of water after cleaning tips of any undesirables. Let soak about 1 hour or however long so that water penetrates husks good. Place over very hot coals or preheat gas grill.. This process will cause the husks to steam the corn on the cob. About 20 minutes or so..you won't even need butter..

that a fifth of jack mixes just right with a 2 liter bottle of coke?
coincidence or design?
My daughter and her boyfriend drinks shots of Southern Comfort.
One day, she said the new bottle didn't taste right. So she got a bottle out of her freezer that was already opened and compared the two. They weren't exactly the same color either.....
So in her drunked state, she sent off an email to someone she found on the Southern Comfort website. They called her the next day and sent her an email asking for more details. Then they over nighted her a box to put the bottle that was different in and send her a check to replace that bottle.
Later they called her back and said they tracked it down and sure enough a whole batch had been incorrectly mixed. So they sent her another bottle of Southern Comfort, and a award saying something about being a fine customer...a tshirt, a keychain and something else.
Who'd ever thought that by complaining you'd get rewarded so well?

i was standing in line at the grocery store today and looked next to me, there was a woman about 60, its been 23 degrees celsius here so.
the capri's are out.
anyways you notice the legs and she has about a 5in by 4in tattoo on the side of her leg.
Oh wait I forgot something...
I dated this guy years ago. His grandmother, had lost a leg from the knee down, somthing about her diabetes .....anyway she had to use adult diapers, and one day I just happened to be in the room and someone was helping her change, and I noticed what i thought was a HUGH horrible bruise on the inside of her leg. Later I pulled my then boyfriend to the side and asked about it, .....he said..it was a tattoo from her young wild days...This would have been back in the 1920's. It was really not attractive in the very least,......... yet..I wish I had gotten a better look at it and I had asked her about it.

I love tatoos, but like you I just observe them on others. I've never gotten one, I mean there are so many decisions involved, First the what, then the where, and size and by whom..way too much for me.
I saw the stranges tattoo on a young man, ...I was afraid to say something. I honestly couldn't tell, if
a. it was a tattoo designed as paint splashed on his leg (it was expertly done)
b. it WAS paint splashed on his leg.
c. a birth mark.
Anyway...Enjoy the rest of your Friday..

do you feel that we will ever be free from the mental damage imposed by our parents?
i have been df'd for over 17 years.
basically, my entire family still remain active jw's.
I came to grips with it when I looked around at the people that were close to me in my nonJW life.
Currently....
The people I work with.....both same age as I am.
One girl lost her mom when she was only 9 years old. Her step mom was mean and abusive. But she continues on with life, just fine, great mother, and wife..loves her husband and family. Has blow out parties at her house, were no one looses any heads or body parts...no one passing out drunk..she takes care of herself...eats healthy, regular excercise.
One girl was given up for adoption and then her adopted parents were abusive. Yet she too is a responsible lovely person and great parent and wife. Put herself thru school, laughs now about her past, still loves her adoptive family, because they are her family. She uses her life lessons to teach her son. She is helping raise her husbands teenage daugher. Works hard and helps her husband run his business.
The only reason I'm pointing this all out, is because ..just like me, .....These women didn't get to choose their lives...they made their lives into what they wanted. Neither of these woman are religious (meaning attend a church or pray regulary), not that it makes any differance, I just notice stuff like that...and I ask nosey questions.
I only lost my parents to a cult. Their still alive, they are still making their own decission, (well they think they are)....That in my mind seems far easier to deal with then what the women I work with had/have to deal with.

regarding my workplace drama....to update....tuesday night i went to work, gerry was there, i only said hello as he did, vince came in 10 minutes before it was time to go home.
i went into his office & asked to speak with him.
i explained my point of view, regarding my expectations as far a treatment of employers/employees (see last post).
loved the way you handled yourself. If more people were like you, we'd have less problems in the world. Thank you.
