  What are you going to give up on Lent?

  well i was listening to the news this morning and they were talking about lent starting ash wednesday the 25th , i believe.

  they talked about how on lent you are suppose to give up something you like or crave.. .

  wikipedia says there are traditionally forty days in lent which are marked by fasting, both from foods and festivities, and by other acts of penance.

  My second husband and his family were Catholics'. Every year for lent, my husbands dad gave up alcohol (whiskey) but would drink beer and would go to church everyday. His mom gave up icecream, but would eat icemilk.

  Then on Easter Sunday they'd have a BIG hoohaw,shindig.......everyone drinking and getting really drunk.

  It never bothered me, I just thought it was interesting.

  Oh I just remembered this too..The dad, stole a huge cross from the church kept it on their piano...he would put his lottery tickets under the cross every week. He never hit big, a few bucks here and there.

  The t-shirts weren't nearly as much fun as I had thought they were going to be. I am a little disappointed.

  Speaking of t-shirts. When I graduated high school in 1979, I bought myself a t-shirt. The back said "Class of '79" The front of the t-shirt said,

  "Go to hell world, I'm a senior"

  My parents found it and ripped it up. I still think the t-shirt was funny...30yrs later.

  and in a kinda funny way........this friend of mine.......who is very close friend of my df'd son and is much younger than me.....he has been dfd for ten years and shunned by his family and really reall misses them......and has been in a longterm gay relationship and i always felt bad for him because there is almost no way to come back in...then fade...if you are in a gay relationship.......so anyway he has heard me trashtalk wt a ton...and seemed to have zero problem with that and griped about his wt issues...... so i call him the other day and immediately respond with some comment about the damm cult.......we he says," wow oompa you prob don't know but i am going to all the meetings again!!

  so i am just snap....."wow, that is amazing...i had no idea....are you just going back for family...and then try to fade?

  " which is what i just knew had to be the case....and i even mentioned how that would be hard to do with his partner all it would be discovered.......get this....."oompa, i am doing this for me and not my family......they don't even know i am going so don't say anything"........so i am in shock and the more we talk the happier he sounds about da troof....and i mean he is like filled with the holy ghost......so i mentioned how many things we have talked about that they teach that we both dissagree about.......and he says he know they prob have some things wrong but all religions do.

  in an offer letter obtained by tmz.com, the president of the pornography studio and distributor steven hirsch says the company would release the film under their "vivid-celeb imprint, which has released titles starring such personalities as pamela anderson, kim kardashian, and most recently, former miss usa kelli mcarty.".

  the site also reports that the company is offering her family dental and health care if she agrees to star in a series of films.. suleman, 33, known as "octomom" after giving birth to octuplets earlier this year, has reportedly not replied to the request.. i can't make this up.... link.

  Lisa,

  Just met a guy who said he loves his girlfriend and they are happy but they never have sex. So he's thinking abt having an affair...

  They don't seem to be able to talk or solve it.

  So they aren't married. Then my personal opinion is if sex is important to him in a relationship and she is unwilling, than he should be honest with her and break off the relationship. Before starting an affair and getting another person involved. Unless, she is willing to share him with another woman.....and the other woman is willing to share him with his girlfriend.
