I believe it’s still too early to know how the JW community as a whole is reacting to R.F death. However, I don’t doubt that certain higher up members of the organization, or active JW that knew the man are mourning his death in secret.
I also believe that the ones “celebrating” his death are the angels and Jehovah, because -the way I see it-, Franz went to “sleep” in integrity to the truth and loyalty to God not men.
“Those who have put their trust in God’s Son and his ransom have the full assurance of a resurrection. Because of the absolute certainty of that promise, Jesus speaks of them as though already possessing everlasting life. (John 3:36; 5:24) From God’s standpoint therefore, even though they have died they are all alive, as Jesus said at Luke 20:37, 38.”
He still lives, and he will continue influencing and helping others through his books and legacy.
If JWs are commenting about Franz passing, perhaps it could serve to make other JWs aware of this man existence, his experience and writings.

Death is all around us. Sometimes it strikes so near to us, and yet we don’t feel its sting so much. Sometimes it strikes far from us, let the distance be time, space or familiarity, and yet we feel like a part of us has been lost.
After hearing the news of Raymond Franz death, I couldn’t help but to shed some tears. And I don’t even know why I cried. I never met the man in person, I read his books, exchanged some emails with him, and hoped to visit him one day. But my respect and fondness for him transcended the formalities under which we grow to appreciate a person.
His words will go on in his books and correspondence; which regrettably, was the only contact many of us had with him.
“Life is uncertain and when a man dies what he knows dies along with him - unless he passes it on while still in life” Raymond Franz – Crisis of Conscience.
If you can still read or feel these words Ray…Thank you for passing on what you knew. Your words gave us reassurance, hope, comfort and brought some of us closer to God.
May your life and legacy motivate us to have the valor to stand up for truth, regardless of the cost.

he informed me that r. franz was interest in a project to have the 2nd edition the cofc edited in spanish for sale at a price more affordable to people living in latin america.
in the event that our beloved ray doesnt make out of this; does anyone know who will take control of commentary press or his two books?

We need a national story about Ray Franz's life
by moshe inlike everyone else here, i am praying for ray to pull through this medical crisis, but i realize the odds are not good.
i know it's not something people want to think about, their obituary, but i contacted a religion journalist and told her about ray franz, his life at bethel and his books.
i hope she passes the information on to the rest of the writers on their religion blog.

Titus: We all have to attend because the GB says so. That’s it. LOL! I know where you are coming from, I asked myself the same question over the years.
My 2cents…
“2. However, Jesus made this startling declaration to the Jews of his day: "The kingdom of God will be taken from you and be given to a nation producing its fruits."
In the current JW’s environment fruits=works (preaching hours, meeting attendance, pioneering, building comities/regional, bethel work, ms/elder, etc.).
At the times of Jesus the nation was saturated with “works”, the Pharisees lead the way. It is obvious, then, that the fruits that the nation was not producing were love, mercy, joy and faith -just to mention a few. From my experience and observation, many JWs are not loving, especially those in leadership position; there is no mercy nor compassion in the handling of child sex abuse by JW’s leadership (anointed/GB/FDS). I see no Joy in the faces of JW that have been associating with the religion for 5+plus years. Their faith is towards the material rewards that the WT promotes, their faith in Jehovah and Jesus rest on their expectation of the nearness of the “end of this system of thing”, their faith in biblical truth has been replaced for loyalty to the 9 or 12 men in Brooklyn, NY who call themselves the Governing Body.
P.S....this WT study was just a load of "materia fecal de toro"...

I call them Theocratic Bullies. And boy oh boy… my circuit full of them!
One of them once said to the entire congregation…”if you go out to “field service, door to door, etc” from any group other than the one you were not assigned to, all the hours you did that day are worth nothing to Jehovah, because you disobeyed the elders’ arrangements.”
Another one said in a “local needs” talk…”usually we have to encourage the congregation for the “good works” before we talk about the areas where YOU need to improve. But in all honesty…I don’t have anything good to say about this congregation, because I couldn’t find anything good about it…”
