Its called indoctrination- and you can get it twice a week at your local KH. But yes, life is the best teacher, and things that happen every day show that the Watchtower world view is wrong- but with the WTS goggles on everything is given a different interpretation. But my advice is... even if you don't know where to go, it is best to stop attending meetings and open your eyes- and just let life be your guide.

Reality is plain to see: if you just open your eyes
by kneehighmiah ini made a post a few days ago about stagnant jw growth at international conventions.
i also enjoyed reading analysis of the statistics from jwfacts.
what the watchtower claims and what the reality is, are two different things.

No, you can just download the PDF by itself- although how easy it is might depend on your browser.
Find the light blue box where it says Click here to start download from sendspace and disregard all the others.

WATCHTOWER on revelation's MYSTERY GREAT BABYLON, And your view about it
by gggolovkin ini think wt interpretation about the rev.
mystery great babylon is too general, saying that is all false religion..... from reading revelation, it looks more specific because it says, it is the mother, ( maybe origin or root ).... what's your view ?
thank u and hoping for ur replies.

I think it's all a bunch of crap.
"Ding!' We have a winner! It is all a bunch of crap- but you have to do a lot of research... to eventually realise you have been wasting your time on a bunch of crap... Bart Erhman gives a good explanation of Revelation, as do Catholic Church scholars and people like Elaine Pagels. The factual explanation is very boring really, which is why fundies like to spice it up.

due to downsizing, i would like to get rid of them.

Magnum- there is a text version here: http://www.strictlygenteel.co.uk/mystery/mysterytitles.html
You have to save each chapter separately though... sure there are other copies elsewhere if you look hard enough.

we now have nuclear, chemical and biological weapons.
LOL, we do indeed- but look at the current war in Iraq- which is being fought in the same way as World War I- with tanks, trucks & men with guns. War gives humans an outlet for their aggression- but if the weapons used are too powerful, then it just becomes extermination- which is not 'cricket', and usually happens more in natural disasters, where everyone feels sympathy for the victims. So there is a good reason why we haven't destroyed ourselves yet- technology has surpassed our basic emotional needs in the killing field. Boring, but true.

What have you created?
by new hope and happiness ini think it's wonderful that be all posses creative power of thought, and i think this form of creative manifestation comes most commonley in the form of arts.so many posters have mentiond they are writing a book, but i bet some of you create music or make a wonderful soup.. i ask this because i was reading my old school reports and my art teacher wrote " michael is the post constructive, imaginative pupil i have ever had.
his enthusiasm wonders a bit but on the whole an excellent pupil" ....sadly i think if that statement was true i have rather let my self down with my artistic expression.
still it's never to late and i intend to involve myself in my art again this summer..

I've always been more practical than artistic, and have made simple furniture- coffee tables, bookcases etc. - but I have always loved photography, and taking a picture of ordinary things in such a way that they appear kind of iconic. I'm not about to cut off my ear though, lol.

It's very strange... Armageddon is a 'theme' for the WTS- one that they can't stop using. Every few years in a publication they would say that kids would never grow up before Armagedon. I guess the Watchtower writers were so senile they couldn't remember writing the same thing many times before... or they died of old age, and new writers came in who believed their own BS. After many years, it does start to seem comical...

Your thoughts?
Yes we are living in the best time in human history, because 100 years in the past or the future, and we wouldn't be here- other people did and will populate this planet.
How will it turn out?
We will all keep getting older and greyer.
What can/should we do?
Not much we can do... dye our hair darker, maybe?
