Girls - what subject got you thinking?
by wannabefree inreading the post "how long did it take you to leave", i can't help but be envious of those of you who refer to leaving as a "we" event.. i know it has been said that women tend to react to feelings/emotions along with logic, can you help me with ideas that got you to feel something was wrong?
what should i work on planting with my wife?.
thanks..

For me my husband discussed the 607 date thing with me and showed me a bunch of secular proofs. It was just enough that made me understand the 1914 date was wrong and made me uncomfortable to go out and preach it. My conscience bothered me and I kept putting off preaching and with all that time on my hands I started investigating other things. It was easier for me cause i missed a few meetings because of it and not a single bro or sis called to check up on me so the lack of christian love, me being away from the hall some time, and the evidence I was finding against the organization was what sent me down a whole scary new path. I would say it was a good three months before I could admit out loud what I was being taught was a lie. Thats kinda my short summery. I pray the best for your wife!!

To help my cousin..maybe if you used to be an elder..
by hereiam! ini have a cousin who has been away from the meetings 5 years.
she was baptized only a year before becoming "inactive" and moved to another state.
then after some time she moved back to the area all the family is from, but wouldn't say a word of anything having to do with the religion.

That is great advice. I know for a fact they don't even have one witness!! But keeping her mouth shut and giving them absolutly nothing to go with seems the wisest. I know hell will freeze over before she would admit anything to them, even if it were true! Its none of their buisness and they have NO god given authority over her. Thanks a million!

I'm Very Encouraged...
by Cthulhu inby the fact that in under one day we have 2 new members on the board, hadit and thor.
that people are leaving that nutty religion and doing so in a rather public manner is a wonderful thing so far as i am concerned.
if you two happen to read this, hadit and thor, please know that seeing you here has made my day!.

Yeah they make it pretty hard for you to feel ok about your choice of BC and THEN proceed to guilt you into not having kids at all. Go figure.

Cool thanks. Yeah she has absolutly no contact or association with the congregation and its not even her hall!! She could care less if she was "marked" she only wants to avoid being df'd since contact with her family is the objective. So since marrying an outsider is the only proof of any "wrongdoing" maybe she's fine..
That would be awesome to to know the actual rules. Thank you!!

Hi hadit!! I'm so glad like so many of us you've finally had it!! lol sorry, I couldn't help myselft. I am so proud of you! I recently made a solid step to get away, and its been over 6 months now. It for sure hasn't been easy but its true, its SO WORTH IT!! I really hope the best for your family and that's so awesome you got through to your mom! It sounds like you wil be facing some tough times with the elders on your back now. That I belive is the saddest effect the organization has, is disrupting your peace and happiness within the family. I am fortunate to have my husband leave with me, but I have an enormous amound of family that are all witnesses and am having a hard time dealing with it. Please keep your chin up and know you are doing the right thing! You have to be true to yourself and to those you love most. I'm so glad you found this place and together we can all find the way to move forward. Looking forward to updates about how you and your family are doing. Please know we care!! Welcome welcome!! Sp glad to meet you!
