  so i’ve been dating my boyfriend for over a year.

  he left the jehovah witness community and we have been living together for one year.

  he hasn’t kept in contact with his family because he was disfellowshipped and hasn’t gone to any meetings.

  I wouldn't be overly concerned about him going to the memorial, but you should have a conversation about it with him.

  Kingdom Halls fill during the memorial with studies, unbelieving adult kids of JWs, disfellowshipped, inactive JWs ...

  Some might still believe, some are simply trying to not burn that last bridge with family.

  Some who are disfellowshipped work to get reinstated to regain some family association and then fade away.

  If you are serious about a future with this person, you need to understand where his thoughts are.

  on the local news last night it was reported that two kingdom halls in olympia wa were set fire to.

  i wonder who has a grudge with those congregations?

  unfortunately we know the jw"s eat this crap up and enjoy the "persecution.

  I happened upon this show in Hulu a few weeks ago.

  I figured there must be a post about it here.

  I turned it on with my wife (fully in) in the room. Like other shows I've turned on that were uncomfortable I fully expected that once similarities were obvious she'd leave the room or start ignoring and studying here Watchtower.

  To my surprise, she has been watching them and is into the second season. (She got hooked on Aaron Paul in Breaking Bad ... another series I was shocked she watched.)

  Could this actually be a catalyst to waking up? Or will she justify that this is different than JW's?

  Time will tell ... but it can't be a bad thing,

  Wow, that text sure is full on cult.

  The video Governing Buddy Jackson is theocratic warfare. It would be presumptuous of us, he says, but that's because he's speaking to a worldly court that is under the influence of Satan.

  You can be sure that the conversation with a JW who questioned him on this would continue to establish the evidence from the Bible. WE don't claim to be God's only spokesman. God can use whomever he chooses ... He's even used Kings. He could make the stones cry out with His message. And then proceed to show why we are confident (as JW's) that GOD has appointed us His Witnesses. It would be presumptuous for us to make that claim, the claim is Jehovah's. ;)

  You have to notice what they aren't saying when they are asked questions. It's spin while still feeling they are being truthful.

  He didn't say "no" to the question.

  WTF? Whenever I try to talk about the subject of "this (ever changing) generation" with my wife, she always resorts to "it doesn't really matter" she's all for the light getting brighter. Changes don't matter, the fact that they are willing to change understanding is just more proof that they have "the truth". Obviously, the generation teaching matters to the governing boobs as they feel the need to keep embarrassing themselves to justify their anointing and control.

  I'm taking my daughter to see A7X at Resch Center in Green Bay in January (where I used to force her to go to JW conventions LOL)
