i have been talking lately with my neighbor about the watchtower religion, and she said she is very good at going verse to verse with them to disprove their bible.
then she asked me if they have their own bible?
so, i told her yes, they started making one in the 1950's.
They do CONSTANT revisions on it without telling anyone. One thing that I noticed that they changed with the 2004 (or 2006...can't remember which) printing was that they removed all brackets [ ] that indicate added words. So basically they added to the Bible and took away all indication that they added words to it. Now it looks like those added words are really the words of God. One of the most noticable was in Col 1 where they removed the brackets around the word "other".

They surely did. Here are some fun quotes for you ,Ding
Furthermore, Science declares that there is a far mightier Center, around which these countless millions of suns revolve, accompanied by their planets and satellites. This great Center seems to be associated with the Pleiades, particularly with Alcyone, the central star of this renowned group. For this reason the suggestion has been made that the Pleiades may represent the Residence of Jehovah, the place from which He governs the Universe. This thought gives new force to the question which the Almighty asked the patriarch Job: "Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? Canst thou bring forth the constellations of the Zodiac in their season?"-- 'Job 38:31,32'. There seem to be fewer stars in the North than in any other part of the heavens. Thus the North seems to have been given a very prominent position, the other points of the compass giving it homage, as it were. This fact was observed by the ancients, as the Prophet Job declares--"He stretcheth out the North over the empty space, and hangeth the earth upon nothing." ('Job 26:7'.) Throughout the Scriptures the North seems to be closely associated with Jehovah's government of the earth. {Zions Watchtower Jun 15 1915 185}
"Some one asked me the other day: Suppose you should be here in 1925 what would you do? I said, I believe I will be home in the Pleiades before then .." {Watchtower Nov 1 1920 334}
"The face of the deep, of course, would be toward the Pleiades, which are claimed to be the habitation of Jehovah." {CREA 94}
The constellation of the Pleiades is a small one compared with others which scientific instruments disclose to the wondering eyes of man. But the greatness in size of other stars or planets is small when compared with the Pleiades in importance, because the Pleiades is the place of the eternal throne of God." {RECO 14}
we've discussed a few potential reasons why the wt is promoting april 2011 as a month of special activity.
reasons include manipulating statistics, and trying to provide some kind of spark to increasingly apathetic and discouraged congregations.
i'm sure there are others i'm missing too, feel free to include those.
Tha fact that theese positions (pioneer, elder, ministerial servant etc.) exist in the congrgation is not a problem. The big problem is that some don't understand that it is not ok to use these positions and titles to satisfy their ego and it's not ok to do this to impress others. The purpose is to serve others, to do it for God, but few do it for this. They transform something that should be spiritual in something material and something that has more to do with social ambition than devotion to God.
Fantastically put! I think many of us thought that JWs had the truth even after disagreeing with the Watchtower. I know for myself I initially thought that it was just certain men that had gone corrupt. Unfortunately the problems go a lot deeper than that.
If you ever get a chance, you might find this talk interesting.

naco, ariz. drug smugglers used a catapult to fire contraband over the border between mexico and arizona, authorities said wednesday.. national guard troops operating a remote video surveillance system on friday evening saw several people using the device beside a border fence near the town of naco, and border patrol agents contacted mexican authorities, nbc station kvoa of tucson reported, citing u.s. customs and border protection.. "i have not seen anything like that in my time before as a border patrol agent ... although we are trained to handle any kind of a threat that comes over that border," tucson sector border patrol spokesman david jimarez told reuters.. the mexican government declared war against drug smugglers in 2006, and the resulting conflict has left more than 30,000 people dead.. the crackdown has pushed smugglers into ever-more daring and ingenious attempts to move drugs into the united states.

Strangely enough, they left this little doosy of a scripture out too:
Proverbs 15:3 - "The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good."
and this one:
Matthew 18:20 - " For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
and this one:
Jeremiah 23:24 - "Do not I fill heaven and earth saith the Lord."

Wow, Blondie...
They use almost the exact same argument and even some of the same scriptures. Here's a quote from that article:
So, how is God “everywhere”? We already read the answer, in David’s words: “Where can I go from your Spirit?” (Psalm 139:7). It is by their Spirit that the Father and the glorified Christ have complete access to their creation! Through His Spirit, God’s reach extends to every nook and cranny of the universe, and there is—as David wrote—no place to flee from His presence. Yet He still retains a shape—a body—ruling in glory from His throne in heaven. It is from there that “His eyes behold” the sons of men (Psalm 11:4).
While I don't agree with the Church of God's position on this, at least they brought up Jesus... The Awake article said NOTHING about Him.
