I agree Sweeny. I would be the first one to celebrate the destruction of the borg. I just don't see it happening for many many years. Sad... So I will take what I can get. Save families, save lives, and live and let live. But put an end to the destruction of peoples lives.

granted that barring some major international changes of a catastrophic scifi nature the wts is going to exist in some shape or form for the next hundred years and probably more, what progress on the "apostate" front would you personally consider a success?.
would you simply be happy to have all of your blood relatives out?.

Ziddina made a really good point. There are many that think that the WT is fragile and that they can take it down. On youtube there is the "Vast Apostate Army" or VAA. They have set a date of protest. I really believe that this will do nothing but make current Witnesses think that they are fulfilling prophecy in that they are persecuting JWs and that everyone else will just shrug it off.
How will the WT be taken down? I'm sorry...and it is depressing...but I see no end in sight. I personally think that Catholics have it all wrong. But they have existed for over 1 thousand years.
Hmm...I may do a post on this.
Anyhow, we all want the WT to go away. But the JWs are fighters. They think the same thing that terrorists think. God is on their side. And if this is true, who can stand against them?
I guess I feel like it is something that time and cultural change will have to take care of. Otherwise only God Himself will take them down.

That's a good one slimboy. Except it's even worse. It is not only talking about so-called apostates. It's talking about all disfellowshiped ones. So if the law was different it would probably be a "conscience matter" to kill such ones.

I love JWs with all of my heart. When I think about them, I feel sad. Seriously they are some of the most honest hearted people I know. They 100% believe that what they are hearing and reading is the truth.
To me, it's like seeing a dysfunctional kid. On the surface they are rude, rebellious, violent, and have no class or character. But underneath they have been mistreated, abused, and lied to. They have not had true affection from a parent. They have been made to feel like they are not good enough.
Jehovah's Witnesses only say what they do and teach what they do because of the abuse that they have suffered. It's easy for us on the board here to say that they are annoying and judgmental. But they know no other way. You know? They have been thoroughly brain washed and mislead to the point that they can justify everything. If the GB conspired to commit a murder, I GUARANTEE you that they would have an excuse for them. It's sad but true.
So while I am upset at the leadership and what they have forced JWs into, I cannot help but feel pity for them. I DO NOT feel pity for the leadership. While I think they too are captives, they have gone beyond what could be considered normal. They have ignored facts and fabricated lies. Even if they feel they are doing the "right" thing, they have done enough to be punishable by death in my eyes. The blood guilt that is on their hands is staggering.

It's called "Theocratic Warfare". Using this tactic they can justify anything. The only time you need to be truthful is when a person is "entitled to know". According to the insight book, fighters against Jehovah or his organization do not need to be given truthful information that they are not entitled to.
