  Life On Other Planets

  the society has taken stabs at it in the past only to double-talk the issue to death and insert their own prograndized spin on it.

  i remember one article encouraged peeps to not look for life on other planets, but instead try to draw close to extra-terrestrials that want to draw close to us (jehovah, jesus, faithful angels) or either imply at the end of one publication that jehovah has a purpose for the universe but that the earth will always be special because this is where his name/right to rule was vindicated.

  back on the old h20, i posted a thread called,

  GODS AN ALIAN!

  if you try to imagine an alian visiting us, you see a vastly more
  advanced creature that would be able to amaze us with its knowledge, and power.

  now try to inagine the bible accounts of "alian" contact.

  that big chariot in isiah= spaceship.

  miricles= superior technology.

  following a star! pleeeease.

  if you were a superior being trying to talk to inferior creatures
  may be as difficult as us communicating with ants or bees.

  instead we try to learn thier language, and speak to them.

  perhaps the bible is a crude attempt to contact us, and jesus
  is really a mediator between us and a bigger being.

  just my two cents.

  ok, favorite/most despised cars thread.. i'm a mechanic (undercar) in the states, and american mechanics for the most part really don't like most european cars.

  the words saab, renault, and peugot will send most mechanics on an early lunch break that may last into next week or until the car leaves the shop.. a swedish person once joked about skoda cars to me in a chat room.

  what do you call a skoda with twin pipes (dual exhaust)?

  the new skodas are great. they have a 220 horsepower that can beat most luxury cars, and its very cheap.

  Kias of all make are crap.

  dawoo are rubbish.

  most others are great.

  to make it easier for the out of towners (especially the ones driving in from the us), how does everyone feel about having our next get together on a saturday...say saturday, august 18th, starting at 4pm?

  insulting people seems to me like a bad way to get a message across, and maybe more jws would leave if they

  could just get facts.

  it allso pisses me off when people try to damage others faith with no suggestion for an alternative.

  tryiing to distingquish between religion and cults is a waste of time.

  ALL organisations display some cult-like traits.

  be they in buisness or in religion. to say one is a cult and another is not is impossible.

  jws MIGHT be a cult, just like catholics and loads of others.

  i certainly harbour a resentment for them, but my opinion does not make it so.

  i put things in caps because i am too lazy to learn to use italics.

  yes they are rich, but again this doesnt prove them to be bad.

  its fine to demand change, but its another to gullibly accept all the bs people say about jws.

  you demonise every decision the gb make and every watchtower written with no regard for the fact that

  that they are probably just old guys with problems they cant begin to solve.

  Ray franz managed to leave with no bitterness. he believes much that is written in the mags is good

  and usefull for cristians.

  why not try and be a little more like him.

  untill the gb try to do a jim jones with thier members i will believe there is some

  good in them.

  here we go again. lets hurl abuse at this tiny little org, while all the while ignoring
  the HUGE groups who do far worse things.

  Catholic nums were implicated in the murders of ruwandins (spelt wrong).

  but do we hear people cursing the pope NO.

  THE FACTS ARE SIMPLE.

  the wtbts are wrong.

  BUT they are not worse than many others groups, and are better than lots all over the world.

  GET ON WITH LIFE.

  or if you must, attack all religion.

  stop beleiving every bad thing you read about jws.

  if i wrote an article telling you guys the elders were into satanic child abuse you would all beleive me.

  SADLY MANY PEOPLE LIE about the wtbts, and you guys only help them with your fake rage.

  i saw a posting the other day where someone was "giving the wtbts fair warning" if they visited him.

  YEEH RIGHT. they are reading hisr post and recording it.

  just wondering if there were any positives to being a jw.

  i have read most of the posts and see that a lot of people were jw for years and years and was thinking that not all that time could things have been bad?

  oh and somewhere in gen. it is supposed to state that we are living in the 7th day now????

  ah yes farkel is right i do drink a lot.

  however as in any club there will be good times, and bad.

  you will enjoy beleiving you are better and more knowledgable than others.

  you will enjoy gossiping, and bitching.

  you will LOVE putting everything off because of thinking the END IS NEAR.

  Sadly the clud will eventually make you pay dues, and that sucks.

  your life will be in the hands of the elders. they say thats not so, but wait , and see how youll have to ask their opinion about everything you do.

  i was and am a great chess player and was ADVISED to give it up to concentrate on spiritual things.

  anyway if you go ahead good luck. if not try join a pub quiz team. youll get the same fun without the guilt about getting drunk.
