Except that RAM wasn't a publically traded company. Thus, the only way for the WTS to have obtained those common shares was to either, 1. Privately invest in RAM, or, 2. Inherit the common shares from a shareholder. I'm guessing the latter occured.

It seems that the WTS was a partial shareholder in RAM along with the Mazurkiewitz's. How the WTS became a shareholder in this company is anyone's clue. They could have been gifted the shares during one of those "We need your money" KM's that come out in November. Or the Mazurkiewitz's had the WTS come in as a partner at the beginning - highly unlikely though...
The filing doesn't specify what percentage the WTS held in RAM, but the total sale came to over $10+ million when it was all said and done. Not that bad of a "donation."
I wonder if any df'd children would have received those shares instead?

So if you turned up at the Annual Meeting with an original "Share" of the corporation, could they turn you away? If Ray Franz himself had a share, could they make him leave? Legally, what can they do?

To be honest, neither really. But on the other hand, when I lived up in the CO mountains, Ford was well known for his charitable works. He lived part-time in Beaver Creek. He was really into supporting the mountain community and he helped sponsor many different events. You could actually see his house when skiing down under or going up one of the lifts(I don't remember the name of the lift - one of his neighbors was a tire family, Firestone or Pirelli?). If you were lucky enough, you would run into his secret service detail in their little guard shack if you got too close.

Whats wrong with Hooters?

If you have a wife/girlfriend that refuses to step into a Hooter's restaurant, because of the name, then the next time you are in the Florida area(or Dallas), stop in to a WingHouse. They are basically a direct ripoff of Hooters - right down to the thick epoxy that covers the tables. Instead of the girls wearing that god-awful orange outfit, their girls wear black. The first time I ever went to a WingHouse(the one in Altamonte Springs, FL), I thought they bought an old Hooters building, literally. They are that close in comparison.
Blondie - Shame on you!

Otherwise Engaged...
by LittleToe injust a little breaking news:.
after several years of a great friendship with diane (previously posted as xena) things have started to really come together recently and i've succumbed to making an honest woman of her (or at least as honest as it's possible to make her.
last night (xmas day) i popped the question and she agreed to marry me (i wonder if she knows what she's let herself in for!!!)..

My jw wife served as a juror on a rape case about a year or two ago. It didn't seem to affect her conscience at all.
But if you want to get out, try giving extreme answers during the questioning phase. If they ask you if you're for the death penalty, say yes - "And kick 'em in the nuts right before you hang 'em!"

What's Your Attitude Toward Men & Women----Stereotypical???
by minimus inare all men and women the same?
do you regard members of the opposite sex "typical"?

Although I was raised as a witness, I still do not view women as lesser than men. It probably has to do with the fact that my mom was the "spiritual head of the household" while I was growing up. My dad didn't get baptized until 1987. Even then, he merely followed my mom's lead on "spiritual matters" because she had more seniority over him in the org.

Although the No. 2 Jerusalem bus where the incident occurred is not actually defined as a mehadrin line, Erez-Likhovski says that Shear's story is further proof that the issue requires legal clarification. About 30 Egged buses are designated as mehadrin, mostly on inter-city lines, but they are not marked to indicate this. "There's no way to identify a mehadrin bus, which in itself is a problem," she said.
"Theoretically, a person can sit wherever they want, even on a mehadrin line, but we're seeing that people are enforcing [the gender segregation] even on non-mehadrin lines and that's the part of the danger," she said.
I was expecting to read towards the end that she was being brought up on charges of kicking that one guy in the nuts. Hey, if it is "public transportation" and the buses are not marked as so, anyone can sit where they damn well please.
I'm glad she got off a kick to that guy's smallies. That might make him think twice about slapping around a woman on a public bus.
