  I've read this report several times and I am wondering about something that I heard. I was listening in on two elder's conversation about their recent trip to this meeting. One said that all of the elders were asked to not disseminate any information until after all of the meetings were finished in the US, and that they would relay the "new changes" at the next bookstudy. He specifically mentioned three to four times about a restructuring that is going to take place. I tried not to smile(in disgust) when he said that the anointed are always ahead of the world's thinking in preparing God's people for whatever reason.

  Now my question is, if there is going to be a restructuring of some sort, how does that tie into the information above? The report above, to me, merely states new rules in effect, not a restructuring campaign. I wonder if there are specific regional changes rather than a united change that is going to take place?

  well the meeting took place and i have to say it had a few surprises.

  one of the biggest surprises was that it was truly non-confrontational in every respect.

  That's funny, you received the same response that I ALWAYS get when bringing up something about blood. "I haven't really researched it YET." Even my wife will not take the time to research this issue. I find it quite amusing that most witnesses will say this just to back out of the conversation without facing the hard facts and thinking about it.

  Mispronunciations at the meetings

  moxy raised a point in the "exaggeration" thread that aggravated me at the meetings.

  mispronunciations.

  moxy mentioned the word 'hyperbole' as frequently being mispronounced.. another one that bugged me was 'epitome'.

  The one that always bugged me even when I was little and knew the right pronunciation was Shad-rack. As far back as I can remember, there was only one WT study conductor that ever got it right. I recall him saying it correctly as Shay-drack, all the while some 'all-knowing' sister made the point to say it as shad-rack over and over in her answer(like she thought she was schooling him). Even today, many years later, I still hear it said that way by the ignorants.

  Might I also suggest that you carry a microcassette recorder with you at all times when away from your home, just in case you are approached by any WTS henchmen? I always carry one - in my car if I get pulled over ;-) ; at work if someone is giving me a hard time, etc.

  as of 6:02 pm last night i received a facsimile from paul hoeffel at the un on the wts.. he gave me 3 of the 4 things i requested in two paragraphs.. i have sent a scanned version to steve bates and someone else.. i sent it to kent and randy.

  and kent and randy have posted the official united nations letter on their web sites.. here is the letter - put your cursor on the image and then right click on your mouse and hit "save image" to your computer.. .

  after you look at kent's web site and you people still think this it is a fake letter, phone paul hoeffel yourself at (212) 963-8070.. hawk

  We all know that Lloyd Barry had his signature on the application. Now the question is, did the rest of the GB know about it, and did they achieve a 2/3 vote to go ahead with this association? Regardless of whether or not they voted on this matter is inconsequential. They have been associated for 10 years with perks. You cannot tell me that other GB members did not know about these perks that come with the NGO status...

  i have been watching the news on cnn and happened to notice the news flashing across the bottom mentioning the state of ohio banning door to door work and jehovah's witnesses!

  has anyone seen this?

  Hmmm, this thread just reminded me of the last service meeting. During the demonstration part, both sisters used the term "community volunteer" when introducing themselves. Not once did they mention they were with the JW's. Now I wonder if that was their doing, or at the coaching of the elder that had the local announcements?

  as little jws, my brothers and i weren't allowed to join the boys scouts as it was affiliated with the catholic church.

  on the other hand, the wbts can affiliate with whom she wants, such as ngo, firephim, etc., etc.

  what about the dateline/pedophile show?

  after all the recent events happening around us , i was wondering if any have kept an eye out for the dateline series on the peds in wtbs.. the way it's going this could end up being a mini-series about the "uncovering" of more wtbs lies and deceit.. the un thing sure was a shocker.

  can the pedophile issue be any less shocking to the r& f??.

  my own sister said she was sure the gb thought it over very carefully before they "joined".

  Maybe SOME jw's, but not MY mother. After I had sent her the Guardian article, she flipped out and went off on the *apostates* saying that they plant all of that garbage in the media. She even had the gall to say that in regards to child molestation issues, that it is part of the "spiritual judicial process" to have two witnesses to protect the accused! I could not believe her! I didn't say anything back to her about how often do you hear of a non-biased witness sitting and watching a molestation occurance. I am beginning to hate her with a passion. She is in too deep, mentally, with the WTBTS to the point of never getting out. My dad would be easier to convince to get out, but that is another totally different approach. My mom definitely wears the pants in their family...

  I sure hope Dateline is convincing and accurate, for SOME jw's sake.

  Anything by Chimay(made by monks for hundred's of years, how can you go wrong?). The only way to describe Chimay is its the equivalent to buying a $100 bottle of wine but instead you are paying $7 for a bomber(22oz) of beer. Next up would be anything by New Belgium Brewing Co out of Fort Collins, CO. Their Fat Tire is the number one selling micro in CO. But 1554 is probably the better of the bunch(black ale). O'Dells 90 Shilling is another tight second. Tommyknocker's has a maple nut brown that is a great palate brew. Portland brewing is another knockout, along with the Sierra Nevada specialties. Face it, Colorado and Oregon are mecca's for the handcrafted microbrew's, the REAL BEERS. That is, if price is no object to you...
