  Someone isn't happy with me

  i just received this email from a jw.

  he isn't the first person to send me his views on my website, i've had plenty of correspondence lately, but at least this one isn't full of abusive language, which many of them have been.

  those ones tend to get deleted, though i have sent a few, with the email addresses included, to wts headquarters.

  Isn't it funny that most of these type of emails from jw's are canned responses?

  • They just happened to stumble across an apostate site
  • The site is very very bad, makes the WTS look wicked
  • We obviously cannot live up to the morals issued forth from the WTS
  • You're bloodguilty if you happen to offend a "bible study" prospect
  • You're gonna die at armageddon for turning your back on jehover

  Most emails I have seen over the years to myself, and many others here on the board, are written similarly. It's as if the WTS printed an outline in the KM for all jw's to use when scouring the web and for emailing us wicked ones. I bet we will never see an original thought come from these enlightened ones, will we?

  No school again today

  for the second day in a row, the schools are closed because of the snow.

  very strange for november.. it is collllddddd today and the roads are solid ice after the bit of a thaw yesterday.

  another big snowstorm hit last evening.

  62 and partly cloudy here in mid-Michigan. And I already winterized and stored my motorcycle - damn it all!

  I agree with Brooke, where's our freakin' snow at already?! Ski season is fast approaching. How the heck am I gonna go skiing on Christmas day with all the other JW's if there's no snow?

  Anyone who criticizes effort is only making themselves look foolish.

  The one who looks foolish is you RT/KAM06. I thought only active jw's liked to refer to themselves in the 3rd person on discussion boards when trying to present an "unbiased" opinion about jw's. Why do you continue to post under two screen names? Do you not realize that by doing so is against the forum rules?

  So many ex-Witnesses are in fear of attending because the Watchtower may retaliate.

  I believe the fear you are referring to is dumping one crackpot religion for possibly yet another one.

  "The Six Screens of the Watchtower" holds annual seminars, where ex-Witnesses can gather together for support and an understanding of what needs to be done to put the Watchtower out of business.

  What can be said at these annual meetings is already discussed here on an everyday basis. Is there a cost to attend these annual meetings?

  You had mentioned that I took the subliminal image out of context. If you could explain how that image was taken out of context, I'm all ears. Could you please explain that one simple image for us? Tell us how you lead into it on your website? Now that you brought it up, I'm sure everyone else would like to know what context it should be placed in.

  whenever i feel myself slipping into a good mood, i can always do some good ol' testament reading, and follow it up with a chaser of wts spin.

  it's a sure-fire way to fuel the apostate-fire that's a' brewing inside.. the account of david and bathsheba, while basically a good sex yarn, gets real sick and twisted at the end, and guess who is the sick and twisted surprise star?

  White Noise and EVP... Anyone believe it to be true?

  i just watched 'white noise' with michael keaton.

  then i looked up evp on the internet.

  there are an amazing number of people who believe that this is true - anyone have personal thoughts on this phenomenon?.

  OK, I never looked into this at all and didn't go to the site you listed. But I can tell you that there are a few ways that "voices" and other sounds could be caught on tape recorders. Allow me to use bethel, of all places, as a prime example...

  Back in 2000 when we went on a tour in Brooklyn, one section we passed by was the tape recording/packaging area. The room where they actually recorded audio to tape was built into a Faraday-like cage. Our tour guide didn't know about the Faraday cage, so I explained to her that it was designed to restrict electromagnetic fields from entering the recording equipment. You see, we are constantly bombarded by radio waves no matter where we go. Some electronics equipment, if not properly shielded, can introduce some of these electromagnetic "harmonics," if you will, into their output stages. Years ago, most transmitter equipment utilized analog output stages that could be eavsdropped on with a matched frequency receiver. These days, most of the airwaves are dominated with digital streams that cannot be eavsdropped on with ordinary analog equipment. But these sources still exist.

  It is highly likely that EVP is simply a case of taking a poorly and/or unshielded analog input and "accidentally" introducing an analog "over-the-air" electromagnetic wave to its circuitry. Some of this equipment may pick up bits of a cordless phone conversation from down the street and others may not. It's really hit or miss.

  So do I believe it to be true? No.

  For those who couldn't get on the site, here is a small taste of the "Sex Witch (252KB)." Now I don't know how or what they use to lead into this video, but view it at least a few times and tell me a believing jw would be drawn to this material. If it is good enough to make ex-jw's roll their eyes, imagine what it will do for the 'faithful.'

  Oh, and I'll leave this one other tidbit for everyone to chew on. Remember I had mentioned subliminal images? Here is another prime example of why everyone shouldn't get too excited about the WTS going down in flames because of this site:

  I left the original name of the jpg file intact. Go ahead and look at the name of the picture. Does the obvious need to be pointed out in the picture? I'm sorry, but when you have to resort to creating a mirror image of an artist's depiction to see what you so badly want to be there that isn't, your target audience of "active jw's" has just been dumbed down to the fringe jw's that live for watching Jerry Springer. Some of the other "subliminal" images(similar to the one above) are simply repeats of what is already out there on many other sites.

  I don't really expect Rare Treat/Kool Aid Man to respond to this thread any further. Any bets?

  I can guarantee you that is not Dion. My wife was given a CD from a bro in her hall and the people listed were unknowns to me. As soon as I can find that CD I will post their names. I believe I had posted all of the songs and the singer's names before, but I don't remember how long ago I did it. Maybe someone will be able to find it before me.

  I think the Dion rumor is just that -- a witness "pipe dream" of having a highly recognized singer rattling off kingdumb melodies. Forward it in an email a few times and it becomes an instant JW urban legend.
