its inevitable that at some point in time, people will look back and see that the exjw community was right about the watchtower organization and the bible..
i have some friends who are catholic, protestant, and some who dont associate with any religion but believe jesus will come in their lifetime.
we are such a small minority compared to christians that we are viewed as ignorant when it comes to religious matters.

i was raised a jehovah's witness, so i know all the "ins-and-outs" of their theology and belief system..
in my view, they can become a part of mainstream christianity and lose their cult status by making just a few changes for the better:.
1: stop their severe shunning practices.
Don't forget the "2 witness" rule.... report all child abuse to authorities, to be handled by trained professionals.

yes, today is the forum's 15th birthday!.
i never thought for one moment that it would survive this long or have so many people post so many great subjects over the years.. it is still humbling when i get pm's or emails from people expressing how the site has helped them and of course thanks goes to all the posters who have shared their experiences and make helpful and supportive comments to others who are in the sometimes difficult process of learning the real truth about 'the truth'.. the site has gone through several different incarnations over the last 15 years running on different platforms, different databases and different hosts but we've been able to keep all the old topics.
the current site is still being developed and i'm hoping to push another major upgrade soon.. i also may have some other news to share soon about the future of the site so stay posted.. until then, here's the the next 15 years!
Thank you so much Simon and Angharad for all that you have done and continue to do for the ex-JW community! This board truly helped me deprogram and move on with my life.
. Many wonderful people have passed through here giving wonder experiences and especially hope of living without the mind control we didn't know we were under.

here in the united states, on wednesday morning, march 11th at 12:35 a.m., est, barring any breaking news the day before, the program, nightline, will air as their lead story a 9-minute segment about the watchtower (jehovah's witnesses).
the program is 30 minutes long and this segment is only one part of the show.
Nightline is on tomorrow night, too. Barbara got word from producers that it is NOT AIRING TONIGHT (whether late Tuesday or early Wednesday in the USA). It will be airing tomorrow night, late Wednesday/early Thursday.
