  JC question: Do you accept the FDS as God's organization?

  my wife and i had stopped going to meetings in april; in december of that year we travelled interstate and stayed with the witness couple who had "brought me into the truth".

  we had already told them we'd quit meetings and there was a certain tension in the air for the first couple of days until sunday morning, when, over a breakfast that eventually lasted several hours, they began to interrogate us about why we had left.

  had we been stumbled?

  I have been asked 3 times by 3 different brothers, one is a good friend of over 14 years.

  • The first time I replied, "YES"
  • The second time about a year ago I said, "well...yes...because that what I was raised to believe."
  • The last time about 4 months ago by my "good friend" I just looked at him and said nothing, after a few long seconds we went on to something else.

  The first two times were to active Elders (I was an MS) and we were having a few disagreements...not on serious matters...and the question was asked. It was asked in a such a way that I would like to have PUNCHED them right in the mouth, they were trying to get me to say, "I do not trust the borg"...

  As I look back this was one of several situations in about 5 years like this that started me to say WTF is wrong with these people-(elders, gb, org). Each time I would question myself on why are they acting like this.., not wanting to dis-believe what I was raised to believe.

  • Now I would like to say something like: "Well, lets let what their record shows, answer that for me"

  i posted a while back, i've been studying with a nice jehovas witness lady for probably about 6 months.

  after a few weeks i googled a few things (earthquakes, how long we've been on earth, ect.

  ) i realised she was very misinformed.

  MADS--You are making a wise decision. Try not to blame the JW, though. She is indoctrinated in a way that even she doesn't understand. Some researchers call it "thought reform" and others call it "mind control." Whatever you want to call it, she is conditioned to think, feel, and act a particular way and to immediately put up barriers when that way is threatened. The mother organization behind the JWs, The Watchtower Society, is to blame, not the individual JWs themselves.

  I hope you can help this woman a little and then get yourself OUT.

  1947 Awake Says Excommunication is Unbiblical and Pagan!

  excommunication is "altogether foreign to biblical teachings.".

  it's an unbiblical roman catholic teaching by which "you are looked upon with the blackest contempt... being cursed and damned with the devil and his angels.".

  **It's all irrelevant... The self-righetous (wicked) elders-Gb will do as they please with no real regard to what the SPIRIT of the rules are.

  After saying the above...The buck still starts with you...if you commit something like adultery...you know---screw around on your spouse---then you have committed a sin and the punishment is set forth in the bible...IT"S THE SHUNNING THAT IS OUT OF LINE!!! And they know it, that's what makes these elders and GB (all of them) that apply and enforce these rules no better than Hitler and his enforcers.

  i once read an excellent history of the battle of the bulge.

  it pointed out that hitler took a huge gamble because he knew his forces would be ground down otherwise by advancing allies.

  he saw what was coming and rolled the dice............. which may explain what the governing body of jehovah's witnesses is doing: demanding loyalty, attacking college, and trying to intensify shunning.. on the surface, growth looks ok but i believe these numbers are a self deceiving illusion.

  MadSThese control methods used by cults are so simple to understand; no psychology degree is required. The information needs to be spread and publicized. We need to NEVER stop talking about it. Information about the REAL truth is the key to ending the tyrrany of the Borg.

  I will plant as much info as I can to help educate people about this distructive org...if the "enlightened" are not able to leave then they will know how to work around the unscriptural rules.

  It's about what works for you...if the information enables you do things better for yourself and your family...then that is what matters. (IMHO)

  I am a born-in and over 50...I would of bet my life that I had the "truth", was in the "truth"...I even said how sad it was that people of the "world" could not see or believe the "truth".

  • How could they not see, why are they not able to, what is wrong with them...why is Jehovah not letting them see.
  • Why am I able to see...oh how grateful I was to be counted so worthy of knowing the "truth" to be one of the "lucky ones" to accept it and not be destroyed at Armageddon...This is how I now see it below...

  If You KNEW ALL That Was Expected Of You Would You Have Joined The JWs?

  since i was in the born in the religion category, i was pretty much indoctrinated from babyhood.

  but i wonder if there was a written contract available, how many would so "freely" join?

  any opinions?.

  Born-in...in the 1950's...did not have a chance. There would be no reason to become a Jw after knowing the real "truth". What would be the point? Give up your life for lies? They will pay someday!

  Voting a conscience matter??

  the local elders sent a letter home with my hubby, pretty much stating that after "many" attempts to visit and speak with me, this letter is once again asking to meet because it came to their attention that i voted in the last pres.

  Looked this article up on the Wt-CdRom and it says nothing about Dfing someone who votes...Yea RIGHT...No really...but I could read between the lines

  • I mentioned this to an elder a while back and he said wellllll...WE are NOT allowed to vote and YOU would be disassociating yourself.
