when you pray do you still use the name jehovah.
i still do.
Don't pray anymore and have not for a few years...after I realized that He does not help feed the poor, heal the sick, or anything you ask him for.
For instance I use to thank him for our food, shelter and everything else...but he was not providing it...if he was then why was he neglecting to provide the basic to those who were dying? Many of them were and are asking for help...but death greets them first!

hello, first let me apologixe for both my spelling and my grammer in advance, both are not my strong points.. i'll keep this short.
since i've been a child my mother has studied on and off with jw's ( i'm now 34) so i've been around it most of my life, i studied on and off myself for around 10 years.
thank's to this site and jwfacts i'll never study or step foot inside a kingdom hall again.

However I think you have a opportunity to state one or two reasons you decided not to study. This may bring to light things he does not know. It can be done without being rude, just as a mater of fact.

i was thinking about all the accounts in the bible that indicate god kills children as a punishment or teaching experience.
1. kills all of egypts firstborn sons, who were innocent kids who did nothing to him or his people, who had no control over the decisions pharoah made.
how many times have you read that account or thought about it without realizing the devastating pain dealt to all those parents, and remembered those were innocent kids?.
It's not who's correct but WHATs correct .... I said this before God's a bad communicator.

while at work a couple days ago, i got a call that my grandma passed away.
she would've been 86 next week, but she still lived her life...so i'm getting emails ect from my home congregation from folks just checking up on me.

larry hurtado mentioned on his blog that yet another early manuscript of the septuagint has been found that uses the divine name instead of lord (kurios), this time representing the divine name with ancient hebrew letters (yhwh) in what is the earliest extant copy of the psalms in greek.
hurtado argues that the use of the definite article before the divine name indicates that the manuscript relies on earlier copies that used lord (kurios), but the fact remains that all the earliest copies of the septuagint that have survived use some form of the divine name and none use lord (kurios) as a substitute.

If there is only one true God then he would not need a personal name...only the imposters would. I do not call my father by his first name because the term farther is more personal.
However If his name is so important we would not have to be guessing what it is or how it is pronounced.
So again it is his inability to communicate with humans. Like the bible says humans will grope about searching---sounds sadistic to me!
