  Lurkers/faders in the US - a heads up on next week's service meeting (Warwick HQ project to be discussed)

  hi folks.

  atlantis has very kindly let me see a copy of the aug 21, 2013 letter to all bodies of elders in the united states.. they are being instructed to re-organize the service meeting for the week commencing september 2nd (next week) to include a special recruitment talk to attract skilled volunteer workers for the new warwick hq.. an interesting feature of the letter is its comparison of the project with nehemiah's rebuilding of the walls of jerusalem.

  considering the relocation of hq is financially motivated more than anything, the analogy is more than a little bewildering.. here is a scan of the opening comments of the two-page outline, to be given in the next local needs item.... .

  After 2000 years since JC was executed ,why have we heard not a whisper from GOD ALMIGHTY ?

  he/she had no problem talking to adam and eve ,though they were sinners in his/her sight .throughout the hebrew sriptures, ot, he /she had no problem communicating with fallen man ,imperfect humans , to dictate his will to his subjects by means of prophets , male and female ,according to the bible , the old testament ,the hebrew scriptures , god communicated not once ,not twice ,not even thrice ,but dozens of times during the first 4000 years of human history according to the bible.. why has this god been so silent these past 2000 years ,when their have been atrocities above the scale of anything that has ever been seen these past 6000 years of human existence .. oh you may say that the atrocities were not committed by god they were committed by man.

  fair enough .but god intervened in human affairs in such smaller infringements.

  with prophets or so the bible says.. the so called apostacy after the last of the apostles , the influence of satan in the world ,( or was that after 1914 ,) and the 2000 year gap when christ was supposed to return ,never mind about all the crap that went before it .. the fact remains we have never heard from god ,any god, or even" a " god, with either his/her approval or disapproval of events good or bad these past 2000 years... smiddy.

  Seven pages and thousands of words...and still no proof.

  WHY...Because if there were most people would be able to recognize it and come to the same conclusions!

  We are not stupid, naive, ignorant, or unwilling as a whole to be able to discern real proof.

  With so many guesses SOMEONE MUST BE CORRECT! But who?

  hi everyone - i am back but under the name of outforever.

  i joined in 2005 under madmax - that is when i got dftd!

  i then went to church and sort of joined - i then trusted in the "lord" and my eyes were open to all the nonsense that was taught to us - but just could not get passed all the hypocracy in the chruch and still they just like the jw are teaching nonsense - sorry to all the christians on the board, but after a lot of searching and reading and reading - i now believe that there is no god - no god at all.. especailly after reading on this board about the flood, and how the animals were placed.

  • We cannot ask god for anything! as he is not "out there" or "in here"

  Point well taken!

  • Pray for the following and see what happens:

  1. Who are you...god?
  2. Why have you not revealed yourself so all can know you without guessing?
  3. If the bible is your word why is not easily understood? By all!
  4. In the past your "word" in the bible says you proved who u were by preforming miracles or direct revelations, why not now?
  5. What's the magic number of deaths before you act to stop them?
  6. ?

  Many questions can be asked however the answers seem to involve many more questions...so in a circle we go.

  • It wouldn't require much effort from an almighty, powerful god to settle all matters, however it requires the will and desire to do so. And a god!

  So god, why haven't you settled these matters?

  There would appear to be a creator to me, however why would this equate to a God status? Not only a God but a loving one?

  The evidence is this god / creator has numbed it's feelings for any natural affections and silenced its ears for humans and their sufferings.

  Look around and what do you see?

  Please don't tell me to look at all the wonderful creations like the earth and all the other fleshless things as evidence of a God of love and concern.

  Interesting experience while protesting at district conventions

  for three weekends this summer, a friend and i protested outside district assemblies being held in the tucson convention center.

  our approach was very low key and completely non-confrontational: we just held our posters and smiled.

  this was our experience at the first two assemblies (for the third assembly, see the next paragraph).

  • Always good to try and wake up someone or any that are not yet hooked.

  When we went to assemblies in the early days 60s & 70s my parents would tell us to hide our eyes and not read the signs...then in the 80-90s when going to St Pete Fl, convention center with other witnesses in the same car they said in unison " don't read the signs because it was the devils and he was trying to mislead us with deceptive words"

  I guess the bible isn't able to disprove their deception because Satin is more powerful then Jehovah? Or is Satin more powerful then the GB?

  Encounter at McDonalds

  so i was helping some friends move and it came time for a break, i took my kids to mcdonalds.

  we're sitting there and there's a family across from us, man, wife, 2 kids under 4. in the next booth is this older guy, maybe late 60's.. i'm not really paying attention, but then this older guy says something to the family about everybody being "me-first" these days.

  so that caught my ear.

  An Open Letter to all Armageddon Believers

  dear misguided people,.

  here we are in the midst of 2013, only one year from the 100th anniversary of 1914. since i have many family members who are still jehovah's witnesses, and who still believe that the end of the world is coming any minute now, i thought i would post a little list of events, a timetable if you will, of some end-time prophesies and how long ago they were.. around 2,600 years ago zephaniah promised: "near is the great day of the lord, near and coming very quickly; listen, the day of the lord!

  around 1,980 years ago jesus promised,"...this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur.

  Hope gives him reason to get up everyday...talking to others may help him in not thinking about his lost life. If he can convince someone else to believe as he (JWs) do, then this reinforces his beliefs and adds to his hope being true. After all Jah is opening up their minds to become believers, so it must be the "truth".

  Now he can relive some of his lost passion through their new zeal! Provers 13:12 "Hope deferred makes the heart sick"
