- I did not see how this article showed the end was close or closer, so I responded with this email, to most of the address shown in the original email… I did not include the attachment of the articles here just my text.

Hello everyone...not sure how this article you sent pertains to the end being close, but perhaps you can help us see the correlation to Jesus' signs about the last days and this article...
- However I do remember growing up in the late 60’s and 70’s being instructed from the platform and our publications that it was God’s Promise that I would never grow old in this present system of things. (I’m now 57) Please see a scan of the May 22, 1969 Awake below... because this is what we were putting our hope and trust in.
- Another article around 15 years later I thought would help me see that the end had to be much closer...since it had not come yet, was the May 15, 1984 Awake, about the Generation of 1914 that would not pass away...(you can look this encouraging article up on the CD-Rom)...but again the end did not come.
- So it makes sense… since that Generation had all but passed away, Jehovah needed to reveal a change in this understanding.
- Evidently He did, because in 2010 the Governing Body revealed Jehovah’s 6th new understanding of the Generation as the ‘Overlapping Anointed’. (Proverbs 4:18). Does this mean the end is closer today? We Hope So!!!
- But what, or whose words can we really put trust in today? I thought the ‘TRUTH’ wouldn’t need to change…but as we’ve seen published beliefs changed many times. I found this Awake to be encouraging as it said: "No one should be forced to worship in a way that he finds unacceptable or be made to choose between his beliefs and his family." Awake! 2009 July page 29 par 28
- So we’re trying to be more like the example of the Boreans in Acts 17:11…
- They were Noble-minded, who were open, who were searching, who didn't assume they already knew everything. Noble-minded, yes, but note.... not gullible, for they "carefully examined the Scriptures daily as to whether these things were so.” They never had to take a "leap of faith" They carefully examined evidence already in existence.
- So when we (I) look and examine the evidence today… it shows all-human reasoning’s or predictions have failed miserably.
- We have not given up hope (Wt Study for 05/13/12) but we realize no one knows for sure if it will happen in his or her lifetime.
Please forward this wonderful past information on, so others so can see how some of the “truths” have progressively been refined.

3.5 years vs. a lifetime of going door to door.
by tootired2care indid it bug you as a witness that jesus only had to go from door to door for 3.5 years, and he was done; while he demanded that you do it for your whole life without preparing for the morrow?
i just remember a few years back reflecting on the daunting prospect of doing it my whole life if the end didn't come - "sooner rather than later".
what are your thoughts?.

- TEC: Just sayin', in case anyone thinks that he was copping out and asking more of his followers than he did of himself.
- Again Jesus was Perfect!!! am I missing something here?
- He also knew: WHO HE WAS BEFORE HIS EARTHLY LIFE: Like His heavenly life and He lived for a time in heaven that we humans would consider for the most part already lived FOREVER.
- He also knew:WHY HE WAS HERE AND WHAT HE was WILLING / GOING TO DO. It was no surprise to him.
- So for me if you are A God or God Like and are aware of everything then it would be just a matter of going through the required motion. Not to diminish what transpired but just stating reality --- it is what it is.
- I do believe all of his followers who knew him in the flesh gave their lives for Him and are dead.
- Again Jesus was perfect and knew everything--- give me the same and watch what i can do!!! until then don't judge anyone or expect them to do the same as what Jesus did... or for that matter even close to what he could do.

Actually "BA" you make a valid point on "MEN"... and I should of worded my comment differently or not said anything. When my wife and I were out in service with others I never wanted the sisters to go alone or at least not be out of our sight... because of the very reason you stated about meeting "some men" at the door. There were a few times when I had a mini panic attack when we did not know where they were and actually started back-tracking to find them. Not a good feeling!

It stands to reason at least to me...if it was so important to know what God wanted from us he should/would-of let it be know without guessing!
- Since our lives (supposedly) depend on knowing this--then He has failed or has He...?
- It's not loving to let humans suffer...-nothing is being proven to me to allow this to continue.
- It doesn't bring me closer to a god that has the power to bring an end to this but does not!
- And 3.5 years versus a lifetime does not add up!!! and besides Jesus was perfect...we are not so I quit comparing myself or anyone else to this (his) standard.

- Back to the topic: What is the Message being presented today? From what I can see there is not any real meat in the topic for conversation to SCARE anyone enough to want to listen to the message for long.
- Even for those who still go in service, do they feel any real urgency to get new members?
- The magazines only contain topics that are able to attract attention for the moment --- and there is nothing beyond that first interest to hold them like there used to be... a sense of life or death for the need to continue... Why? Because the end was so close, but now what? No real hook!

Bro.D went on to read Isaiah 65:21+ How Jah feels--we will be like the days of trees, toil for nothing, blessed ones and build houses and live in them...BUT we must do something. WE NEED TO GET BAPTIZED THEN take in what John 17:3 says---Knowledge of God, and attend meetings for the good association AND ENGAGE in the Preaching work.
It seemed like one big commercial for the WTBTS.
I was tempted to drink the wine but did not because...well it just seemed wrong to put them through any emotional stress.
I knew many of the over 300 attending and did not want to cause any issues for them or us. Some I know have real "mental" issues and have been dealing with them or years. On the nice side the singing sounded great...NO REALLY IT DID.
- I seen no one partake... but Bro. D did mention the attendance last year as 1934737 with 11824 partaking and in Jesus day only 11...(? I think i got the #s correct.) But it seemed they (he) was really trying to stop anyone from partaking with the threat to your life if you were not chosen by God and partook anyway.
- No real drama but just sad to look at so many that were still being held captive.
I still find it disconcerting that there is no Bible Scriptures to back up...us -NON ANOINTED- attending as observers. No one seems to question this?
- WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO HELP OTHERS WAKE UP AND KEEP OTHERS FROM BEING CAPTIVE. OH AND I hope not to attend next year without partaking.

Got back 15 min ago now we are having a drink.
- One part that I found this year to be a bit over the top was: The speaker asked how do u know u should partake and used Romans 8:16,17
16 The spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 If, then, we are children, we are also heirs: heirs indeed of God, but joint heirs with Christ, provided we suffer together that we may also be glorified together.
- Then Br D said If u partake u forfeit your earthly hope...so u better be sure that you are part of the little flock. Search yourself be very careful that u are chosen by Jehovah as it means your life...if u partake and are not chosen by God u will not have life anywhere.
- He also stated that this was like a wedding ... we are observers as we would be if we attended someone's wedding. Doing nothing but witnessing the event not partakers! ---NO SCRIPTURES GIVEN OR QUOTED... just the statement to observe ONLY!!! SO WHY ARE WE THERE??
