i just finished all 3 days of the dc and, for what it's worth, wanted to get down some of the highlights i enjoyed.
i went with family and i only did it for them, and hope to never attend another assembly ever again.. .
the whole thing was pretty boring and uncomfortable due to the stadium style seating which doesn't favour my long legs and ac being blasted too high.. .
I feel your pain Gutted. I missed my first DC this year and it was hard knowing that I was hurting my son and that these kinds of family things are over. Taking these steps are so difficult. It was courageous of you to cancel your talk and remove yourself from the school. I know we are doing the right thing but it's hard when family does not see it and opposes us.
My thoughts are with you. Stay strong. I'm glad we have this forum to share our pains and journeys with ones who understand.

i'm sure this topic has been brought up before.
i was at a jw graduation party yesterday and realized "if birthday parties are not okay because they supposedly bring undue attention to an individual, why are graduation parties and wedding anniversaries okay?
" they both glorify individuals and put them on a pedestal.
Nor would it be fitting for celebrants to give humans excessive honor, as if the couple whose anniversary it is ought to be venerated. The Bible clearly shows that veneration should go to the Creator, not to any created thing on earth, whether animal or human.
FAIL! Apparently, this excessive honor only applies to the rank and file because they certainly expect us to excessively honor the governing body by allowing them to dictate such ridiculous rules and regulations on every part of our lives. Such hypocrites.
how come pain the middle of the night is always more scary than during the daytime?
i was woke up from a hydrocodone sleep, with pain in my very upper abdomen and middle back.
it feels like i'm just pumped full of gas and tightness and pain.
I just clued into the hydrocodone possibility! It really does sound like a side effect as per Nelly's link. Please get checked out!

Yikes! Sorry you are not feeling well. Do you have kidney problems? Could be kidney inflamation. It also sounds like it could be trapped gas but GasX should have helped. You could try gently massaging your abdomen in a clockwise direction and see if it relieves it. Also - did you have a very stressful day or lots of stress lately? Sometimes when you get stressed you can get really uptight and in pain in the upper abdomen.
If it continues to be excruciating - please go to the hospital. You don't want to be taking chances.

Right there with you too. I feel like a volcano - I never know when the rage will set in and erupt. It really does come on suddenly. It's all so frustrating. I keep wishing for a time machine!

well, i have been a memeber for a while.
thought the site was gone.. nice to see its still up and running.. learned alot here.. to summerize..........born into the jdub......got df'd at 15.... (am 34 now)on purpose (was molested by my uncle, so wanted out, saw the bs of covering that kind of thing up at an early age),.
dad was an elder, grandad was a po, etc.. left home after being df'd..........ran away....never to return....had a hard time learning how the " world" really was.. anyways......just glad to see this board is still around........just wanted to extend myself to anyone who needs to talk about abuse or the difficulty of "getting out".
That's AWESOME Jesika! Good for you for chasing your dream. Goes to show that despite the terrible things we go through as young people we CAN triumph and get over hurdles.
I don't trust many people (especially now) and I have always relied on my gut - it helped me to get out. Now I have to work at getting my son out. He is the only one that matters - all others, including my husband, are adults and if they want to stay in then I no longer feel I need to have them wake up too. This is one scary, frustrating, confusing and maddening process. It's so nice to have ones like you show us that it can be done and that at the other end is independence and choice - things worth going after.
I would love to go back to school - I gave up three scholarships after graduating many years ago. Pisses me off. I just have to figure out what I want to pursue, come up with the time and money and then see where it leads. Much harder to go to school when you have a kid and other responsibilities.

i feel a bit guilty.
people on this forum were very friendly and helpful to me when i was in the in-between phase between brainwashing and freedom.. i also got a lot of help and advice and sympathy when i was trying to get my wife out.. but when she did leave, i forgot all about you guys, and we got on with our lives, and have never been happier.
honestly, life is soooo damn good now, i worry i might have reached the peak and things will only get worse from here.. we are amazed at how much our children enjoy birthdays and christmas - how healthy, normal and fun these things are.
What a victory!! Live your lives and be happy. So wonderful to hear that your family is together. All the very best! Gives others and I hope.

Excellent article! I will refrain from trimming my nails - don't want to waste all that energy and have it affect my flying navigation skills. but if you go to luke 21:32 - (you'll see it's the same as matthew, says "this generation will be no means pass away until all things occur".
you'll see it speaks of moon and sun darkened in vs 25 to 28 just as in matthew in the same spot.
Good point EoM. Not much time on this board lately but I've read a few of your posts and although some are VERY long I don't think you are as crazy as some may say! I think what you see is part of a bigger picture that some might not see or don't want to. I don't like it but I see it.
