Ecouragement from a JW friend

Good for you for helping out the df'd elder who needed your assistance and support - that's what true love is all about. If you feel like sharing I would like to hear what happened with the apostasy at Bethel too. The society has a knack for hiding truth.

My sucky situation

sadly some of them had been in bethel for 5 - 10 years and were still cleaning toilets.. after about 2 years of it i couldn't do it anymore.
i always knew something wasn't quite right with this organization.

Welcome brotherdan! I feel for you as I am also in a very similar situation. I panicked and told my husband my discoveries thinking he would see it too - WRONG. I have since backtracked a bit and am reading and thinking about how to handle this messy situation. There is a lot of good advice on this forum from very sincere people who want to help.
Think, breathe, read and try and be patient. Don't try to figure out everything all at once - I tried and it is it very stressful and leads to burnout. You really need to take care of yourself right now so your health stays intact. Other than the above - I don't have much else to add as I'm still looking for advice myself and trying to figure things out!

Has anyone ever ask a householder to keep their Bible study secret from their spouse?
by wasblind ini was told of one incident, where a pioneer said that she had trouble with one householders husband, because he was hiding the literature and did not want his wife to study with the jw's so she incouraged the householder to study in secrecy.. .

Also Tec, Jesus JUDGED the pharisees to death. Are we not to be like our model? We do not judge ordinary people who are wicked. But according to him we can judge apostates. Also when Corinthians tells us to remove the wicked man from among ourselves do we not have to judge someone worthy of being wicked in order to remove him? So you are quite wrong.
Your reasoning or should I say lack thereof makes NO sense. Ordinary people? Apostates? Judge? I believe we are TOLD not to judge lest we be judged ourselves and that Jesus is the ONLY judge. You need to reread the accounts about removing the wicked - it is NOT the way the WT interprets. As for Jesus judging the "apostates" and according to WT definition of apostate HE was the apostate. Jesus apostasized against the established order of his day - NOT against God. He CONDEMNED the establishment and their haughtiness, lack of love, wrong teachings and hypocrisy. People who walk away from the WT are NOT apostates of God - they are apostates just like Jesus was. They stand up against a man made establishment who are blind guides and mislead many in order to gain power and control. Jesus spoke against ANY man made religion. He said to follow him "I am the way, and the truth, and the life - follow ME."
The "truth" is NOT the WT - is is Jesus.

I haven't had the time to read all the posts but Tammy - you are one loving and kind person! You know the kind that Jesus refers to when he says "by this all will know you are my disciples if you have LOVE among yourselves."
I certainly can't say the same for ANY who can't wait for the big A to massacre billions and then gloat over the dead because they (as humans) say they deserve it. THAT is NOT love and by no means are they disciples of Jesus as per his words.

SO sad! The elders never cease to amaze me...
by babygirl30 inon fb yesterday, an old friend of mine 'friended' me....and once again, i was hesitant to actually accept because i didn't know how she would feel about me being df'd.
but i accepted, and she sent me a msg.
well we ended up talking back and forth for awhile, and found out that she lives right around the corner from me!!!!!!!!!!

The Watchtower does a wonderful job in taking scriptures out of context and then stringing them together to make it fit their preconceived ideas and there agenda. They are very elitist when they try to elevate on group above another. One group gets immortal life in heaven while the other has to slave away over and over the PROVE and work for their salvation only to MAYBE get life on earth. What did Jesus die for then?
The "other sheep" is not some class that is different in DESTINATION - they are the gentiles who by means of the New Covenant and Jesus' shed blood can now become part of the Kingdom. They are other sheep because they were NOT part of God's original chosen nation. These TWO groups will become ONE flock under ONE shepard. They have the same DESTINATION. It's all revealed in the scriptures when it discusses the sacred secret. It's all there in plain writing. Although to see it you must remove your tainted Watchtower glasses.

WT advice about unbelieving mates or DF'ed family members

i revived it as i was looking for it to show to someone else.. it seems they wish they could legally kill people's own family members.

The new Kingdumb maladies

i have heard scattered reports about how a few actually enjoyed at least a few of the older songs (back when there were 225 of them).
but i have heard nothing but reports of the new songs being impossible to properly sing, very poorly written or performed, or downright blasphemous and promoting blatant idolatry.

The new songs are bad. I was wondering if the change had anything to do with changing the music to put people in a trance so that when they finish singing and/or listening to this new music their mind is more susceptible to the coming indoctrination. I remember reading articles about mind control and that certain types of music can be used to aid in preparing the mind. Or - I could be way off base and it's just plain bad music.
