  Welcome to the forum VampireDCLXV! Thank you for sharing your journey. I have to admit - it made me cry. It hit upon many a memories and nerves. I'm so sorry for your pain. You are not whining at all. It takes courage to share hurt and fears with others. Your intuition was certainly right and it has led you down this path of seeing the truth for what it is.

  You are so right about this religion not being as loving, support and forgiving as advertised. It is very much the opposite and has made a mangled mess of many lives - including ours. Talking to others who are in similar situations is a great way to help in the healing process. It really helps to see how others have handled things and to gain other people's perspectives. It also gives hope in that others have survived this and have gone on to live full and fulfilling lives. It's a scary journey and there are many others sharing it with you. There are many great people here and much insight to glean from.

  There is an excellent book I highly recommend regarding ADHD it is Scattered Minds, by Dr. Gabor Mate. It links ADHD/ADD as products of life experiences, from in utero onwards. It also presents a program of how to promote neurological development in children and adults. It goes into many topics such as self-esteem, autonomy and addictions. It is very much worth reading and I believe would give you a lot of insight into your ADHD.

  I wish you strengh and all the best! You can find people here who truly care, will hear you and empathize. You can come here and be yourself!

  Something is wrong with my dad...

  i keep prooving to my dad how fucked up this religion is, how it lies, and how it is willing to call jesus and the prohets liars if it comes down to the wire to justify it's existance as a religion.

  the only thing i did not show him is the faulty logic that is used in their litaruature.. sometimes he starts getting it and trying to listen, but if i don't say anything to him for a long time, and go off and do my own thing (studying by myself for a couple months), i come back and he'll be back to complete brainwash mode.

  and the sad thing is he does not go to the meetings, and when he did (very rarely) i'd go and prove to him how the organization is wrong!

  I can totally relate to your frustration. It's mind control at its best. It's awful. I've come to the conclusion that people need to come to realization in their own time and that the only thing I can really do is sow seeds slowly. Unconditional love is also a huge key - they will not get that from the organization - YOU can give that to him and perhaps that will help him wake up. Remember - it is also much harder for older ones to let go of their beliefs because a much bigger part of their time and life has been invested in it. It's a really hard pill to swallow to realize you've been duped for so long.

  ... what joseph's brothers have to do with generations overlapping?

  in the final dc talk they use joseph's brothers to indicate overlapping generations.

  does anybody have any clue what that has to do with the generations in matthew?

  They are trying to use Generation with Contemporary interchangeably. Joseph and his brothers were of the same generation by birth - they were of the same mother. It would not matter how long or short any of them lived - they would always be of the same generation. Just because our lives overlap with others does NOT mean we are of the same generation - it means we are alive AT THE SAME TIME which means we are contemporaries. If someone is around the same age as me then she is BOTH of my GENERATION and my CONTEMPORARY. If someone is 90 and I am 40 then they are my CONTEMPORARY only. They are about ONE generation older than I am. People's lives overlap others all the time. If we change the meaning of generation then we change the English language and it becomes meaningless. They are very good at changing meanings. It is very deceptive.

  Who really is Michael the Archangel?

  God is all alone. He is love and wants to share that love.

  God creates his son – Michael the Archangel.

  God and Michael create humans who are in their likeness – the likeness of God and angels.

  Woman makes man sin. Woman is now dominated by man and treated as a lesser human. They need a savior from sin and imperfection.

  God’s Holy Spirit passes over Mary to implant the life of his son Michael into her womb. He is then born as Jesus in the flesh.

  Jesus dies. Ceases to exist for three days and then gets “recreated” from scratch as Michael.

  Michael has now paid the price for sin and redeemed fallen mankind.

  The scriptures continue to refer to him as Jesus . . . but that’s okay because he is Michael too – it’s explicitly stated! Side note: He is also the Alpha and the Omega but in a completely different sense than the REAL Alpha and the Omega – Jehovah.

  His apostles interchangeably referred to him as Michael. How privileged they were to have ONE of the Chief Princes in the flesh among them! Not only is he special in that he is God’s ONLY begotten Son he is even MORE special because he is ONE of the Chief Princes. Being ONE of MANY is very special and unique! Much more so than if there were only one.

  In the book of Jude – Michael was only joking when he wouldn’t rebuke Satan! Jesus is so modest! He did rebuke him while he was in the flesh though – he was feisty that day. His flesh felt strong but his spirit as Michael the Archangel felt weak. We all have those days!

  In his spare time he also masquerades as Abaddon. Those are the days he wants to flip the coin of love and be a little evil. Jesus . . . Michael gets bored too you know!

  Michael’s Father is our Grandfather, God. His name is Jehovah. By OUR grandfather I mean of course, of the “other sheep” the ones who belong to the Old Covenant and have to prove their loyalty through works.

  Michael is the mediator for only the ones whose father is God – the 144,000 Jewish virgin men -the “little flock.” They don’t have to keep proving themselves because they are born again as his children and are given immortal life. They are Michael’s brothers and are somehow more special than the other sheep. They get to execute all the wicked worldly men, women and children at Armageddon; including the evil apostates, who, by degrees of wickedness, are far more wicked! The other sheep rejoice at the great slaughter because they are evil and deserve death. Clean up time! Come on birds – you can eat more than that!

  Michael and his brothers bring about peace and tranquility for a thousand years by ruling with an iron rod while the other sheep work at proving their worth. One final test and Michael and his brothers execute the disobedient sheep. The really deserve it now! They are gone - dead forever and ever. The other sheep rejoice at all this death and destruction – again. They have the privilege of cleaning up the remains of the slaughtered - again. Now they can contemplate everlasting life in a paradise on earth where they must continue in their course of perfection – lest they SIN. At which point they get destroyed immediately. No sin in paradise on earth! Michael’s sacrificial death once for all time has limits you know!

  All is well in the universe. Right back to square one just like planned. By planned I mean purposed . . . if it was a plan then our grandfather would have exercised his omniscience, which he chose not to. Hey – he has that right!

  Thank you grandfather Jehovah for sending us our Saviour and Lord, Michael, also known as Jesus Christ.

  Trying to help a friend

  i have a friend who needs help with a child custody case.

  i remember there was a booklet that many recommended that was produced by the wt.

  i have looked through the old threads but all of the downloads links are no longer active.. her husband is keeping her from seeing her daughter and even though he hasn't been active for years he started going to meetings and immediately got coaching from the elders on how to cut off his wife from their child.

  OMG how awful. Great suggestion above. Also try legal aid and/or a lawyer - sometimes the first hour is free. As well, she should start documenting EVERYTHING that has been and is going on.

  So much weirdness to choose from . . . here's a few:

  You can live forever in paradise on earth.

  A brother giving a talk on headship says that headship is so disrespected that "women are now heads and presidents of corporations!" I almost walked out - I should have!

  A brother saying about his wife "I didn't buy a dog so that I can bark myself." Lovely man.

  growing up in the religion has jaded my perspective.

  most of my believes the wts is bs, but there is that part in the back of my mind that fears they have the truth.

  Welcome Jeremy! It's not stupid to still question whether or not they have the truth - it's heavy duty mind control at work. The more you read and think the clearer things become. You are right, they have certainly created many atheists. The lack of love that has been shown is a sure way to push people away from God.

  There are good people here that really make you think. Great place to share and learn. All the best!

  I watched this a while ago. It was an interesting documentary. Actually, it helped me with seeing the truth for what it is. It was enlightening to see that what we think we believe can actually be from conditioning. The WTS uses many of the techniques that are described in the documentary.

  It certainly helped me to question my thinking and to really watch what is actuallygoing on vs. what is said to be going on.

  kingdom hall fund

  with the accident at the kh build in victoria i thought of the insurance they had.

  i'm guessing it was wts insurance - kingdom hall fund possibly.

  either way, since they do have this insurance division, i was just wondering if it is in name only and run through wts bethal offices or is it a seperate branch and completely seperate corporation.

  The insurance thing is a big question! When we had our kingdom hall build a few years back one of the elders had a very bad accident and after all the talk about insurance - it turns out NOBODY was covered. There was NO insurance. Bethel got involved and said "they take care of their own". The elders said they would have to take a vote from the hall to see if any funds could be released. All in all - they got no help and have sold their house. He is permanently damaged. Screwed over. There was NO insurance. They were certainly NOT all trained and cerfitied on our site either. It's very sad that people are getting hurt.

  So . . . I don't know if they actually do have insurance or not.
