Book of Enoch?

i came across this a few weeks back while doing some online research http://www.sacred-texts.com/bib/boe/ (i hope that's how you post links) and i'm curious to know if any of you have done research into this book and what are your comments/thoughts on it?.

i've read through the watchers and the adam and eve story, quite interesting opens up another angle of the whole "in the beginning".... how accurate is this book?

why was it left out of the bible?

i decided to dig into this matter myself at the public library yesterday.

i examined every book i could find that contained facts about jerusalem.

I found it! This is the one of the two that I found. They guy uses the CD and I walked through it myself and actually looked everything up, yes, it is correct!

You can actually disprove the 607 BCE doctrine by using the watchtower CD. I'm at work atm, but when I get home I'll post the YouTube links that show how to come to the date. Using the WBTS own CD you can prove that the destruction of Jerusalem happened in 587 BCE and not 607 BCE.

EDIT: Meant to add that yes, the current doctrine that Jerusalem fell in 607 BCE is what is taught now. But it can be disproven with their own literature that they are wrong. Got to love it eh?

Did you ever play this legalistic JW game?

i remember years ago playing a game at gatherings wherein the object was to get into the new system.

they would hold up a nwt or a knowledge book (or similar)and after clearing their throat would state the name of the book that they were holding and state that if you read it and apply it you would get into the new system.

after which you were told whether or not you made it into the new system by precisely repeating what you had heard.

Sounds like the crap the pharisees did to make themselves more holy than the average person. A HA! You didn't wash your hands up to your elbows for 5 minutes, you only washed up to your wrists for 3 minutes. You are going to die now!

Never played that game, in fact I can't remember the last time there was a congregation gathering...

during the great depression in the 1930's people lost their jobs, banks closed and long lines formed in the streets called "bread lines".. you had to stand in line all day to get a free loaf of bread to feed your family!.

in a cabin in the appalachian mountains there was a family of four.

two children (a boy and a girl), a mom and a dad who had lost his job.

my coming out of the jw coma (as i like to call it) began at a family rendezvous in the beautiful florida gulf coast.

The minute that the elders in my JC case against my abusive step-father told me that it was my word against his and we can't do anything about it. I should go to the authorities and rip them a new one...

I never fully "believed" it was the truth even though I was born-in and raised in the org. Hence the reason I was df'd a couple times and publicly reproved. Spent most of my adult life (last 15 years) under some type of "restrictions" from the org.... lol wow... I never actually wrote that out, now reading over it is like sticking your head in freezing cold water...

ive been lurking here for the past couple of months since i started researching the organization.

i dont have many people to talk to and its been a saving grace to read your posts.. i dont really know where to start so here i go.

its been a long journey getting here and it looks as if i still have a long ways to go to get somewhere healthy, stable and strong.

I'm glad that you have been awakened and have started to come out of the darkness. I am sorry though, that you have to go through the pain that comes along with it, but in the end I believe (as I am in the process myself) that is worth it.
