i have been reading comments on jvn, huffington, san jose mercury, nbc, and other sources.
I've sent out emails with a simple comment, nothing "negative" towards JWs with the msnbc link. I've only heard back from one active and all they said was how shocking/horrible that was. That was it.
I did get a couple emails from friends DF'd responding to it and they were more along the lines of "its about time this gets exposed."
Honestly, I don't think many will find this article on their own, so I'm helping as much as I can with a simple email and link attached. :)
i have been in quite a bit of therapy and was once on 6 psych meds at one time!...got off them too...but i took two psychiatric tests by two docs and they both diagnosed me with ptsd...like we think of with soldiers who have been traumatize and have trouble dealing with it....and there are certain triggers they may have to avoid...and yep my jw triggers are still right in my face everyday.... and if you don't think there is a reason many gays "stay in the closet" it is because they have sooooo much to lose by "coming out" sometimes....(just like us)...friends, family, jobs, prestiege, others respect....and not only that but they are part of the few that really "get it"............oompa.
PTSD is something that can affect anyone, soldier, gay, or whatever. When I was a firefighter, any huge event, fire, accident, anything that was out of the "norm" of emergency medicine they would call all of us in and sit us down with a counsellor.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder can definitely affect us that have faded, left, whether on our own or df'd/da'd. Therapy with a qualified counsellor is highly recommended upon exit.

i need to know if the kingdom interlinear translation of the greek scriptures is still available for ordering from the society.. i was recently talking to a jw relative and he claimed it was out of print and not available for ordering.
i'd like to find out if he was lying to me or not.

hello old friends, i've been thinking about going back and need you all to give me your thoughts on it.. the last year has been a horribe one for me, in the span of less than a year the following things have happened to me:.
lost my mom to cancergot hit by a carhad a professional set back that will cost over 600k to resolveended a three and a half year relationshipit just feels like every time i think things are going to get better something else hits me and knocks me down, a small part of me wonders wether i brought all these things on myself because i left the organization (yes i know how silly that sounds) and i have given serious thought about going back.

That "support group" you speak of will only be there conditionally. It is not a true support system. Also you keep saying that all the bad things happening to you started after you left right? So if I follow that logic, it must be Jehovah cursing you with these bad things. What a loving god is he indeed! If it was Satan, he would be loading up the good stuff so you wouldn't want to leave!

Hang in there, give it time, let it process. Do more research on points that interst you then start widening it out to everything hypocritical and let that knowledge fuel your freedom.

I use to be the literature servent without the title of MS (was recommended but was denied hence my fade - another story in itself) but no, it was not on the order forms. This was 3 years ago...
i have been to a few funerals and recalled that at many the cloest family members did not cry.. .
ok cultures and a number of factors may explain that, but could crying mean you don't believe in the resurrection?.

When my grandfather passed away some years ago, my whole immediate family cried, some of the girls bawled they're eyes out and I was definitely letting my emotions run with losing my fathe figure through life.
Lots of other JWs did cry as well. Most of my immediate family are active, only a couple of us are inactive.

I had to do that about a year ago. I had to walk away from the forums as I was obsessed with staying on top of every talking point started and reading up on the latest CA/DC gossip. I've been on "Inactive" status for a good 2 years now and the only reason I got back into checking this site is because of some recent developments with my family and a certain friend of mine that has started to wake up.
But I agree, enjoy your life, read a good book or hundred, swim with the fish and breathe in the fresh mountain air. Life is too short to get riled up over the past.
