Just read the news article... dide they catch the guy? Shoot him? What? All the news article focused on was the wounded/dead. Yes, it's sad, but did the perp get apphrended? News reporters and the media in general fail at being journalists and excel at shock and awe.

families were attending mid-night showings of the dark knight movie.. the media should not give publicity tothe names of the perpetrators, they often crave the fame.
give them that fame and others will crave it too.. my thoughts are with the families of all that are affected, a horrific and pointless act that will bring so much pain and sorrow.. edited to say, seems as though it was a lone gunman..

The best tactic Anonymous could use against the Society is to make them look noble and humble
by JonathanH ini was thinking about what would be the most damaging thing anonymous could do on an organizational level by hacking the society.
one poster suggested that they should send out e-mails to all the elders in their elder database pretending to be the society.
but rather than sending out anything wierd and defaming, they should go the opposite route and do what the society would never do but should.

by Soldier77 inthis is pure speculation on my part and i hope to get some others to join in sharing their thoughts on this topic.. with the recent push by "mother" to rely heavily on their site jw.org, correspondance to elder bodies, publication downloads, library access, imagine the impact an attack to their site could produce to the organization.. here we have the gb jumping on the bandwagon, late as usual, but still trying to grasp the internet, and saying that it's "okay" to use the internet, and when you do, please go to our site.
so you have a lot of people that may have been die hard, anti-internet because it's from the devil, now saying, okay, lets get a computer, get internet service and hop online..... that's where all hell breaks loose.
they log on the great world wide web and type in the "officially backed" website.... and bam!

NOLAW - correct, redirecting it to other sites is small stuff. Hacking it to get the information is the goldmine. Also, I seriously doubt they have a back up to their website, even if they do, it will be found out in the initial data mine and hit as well. There was also a document that stated HQ has access to all branches, but the branches do not have access to HQ data. The branches data gets uploaded to HQ, HQ can access Branches DB, but Branches cannot access DB of HQ.
I will say that they have got to be scrambling up at Bethel or Patterson right now. We all know they have spies that monitor this site and if they think that this is a joke, it just goes to prove their arrogance and ignorance, pride before the fall.
IF they are taking heed, their isn't much they can do.

Sounds like they are getting the data dump now. If it's huge, the file transfer could be a long process. Depending on how they are acquiring it, sections at a time or mass download. I would imagine it could be parsed out if needed.

Meaning that the amount of data that they have already gathered is equivilent to Syria's data. Which is pretty impressive since Syria has a population of 22+ million.
In other words, they (WTBTS) have a lot of shit on everyone.
