i have explained "dubnesia" before, which is that amnesia that jws seem to get about the actual content of their so called spiritual nourishment.

Ahhh the many gifts of mind control. Since this years DC's have started, many of my friends have made the usual comments afterwards, "this was the best convention ever!", "truly a timely convention", blah blahblah....
I pose the question to each person that says something to this effect, "so what was so special or outstanding about the convention?" They reply, "You had to be there, words cannot express the uplifting spirit that was there!" Me, "Oh yeah? Well, sounds like there wasn't anything new brought out." They go, "Oh they went over the new generation understanding." (I'm grinning ear to ear now) I say, "Oh really? How did they explain it?" Them, "Uhhh... the new understanding is that the generation overlaps with... uh... hmmm... it's in the watchtower."
So yes, dubnesia is quite interesting....

i know those who continue to make them and use them, must have an idea of what they represent and the reason for them.

i have 2 small kids, ages 4 and 5 yrs and one on the way (via adoption!).
my husband and i faded/suddenly disappeared last fall, never to go back to meetings.
we outed ourselves and told our super hardcore parents/family members that we didn't believe it anymore, were choosing a different path etc.
2pink, I wouldn't let those self-righteous people near your kids without your supervision. Or your husbands, either one of you or both be present. If they don't like it, tough for them, they're your kids afterall.
last saturday night my older sister,24 years old,not a jw,went to a party.to make a long story short she almost got raped by a guy who found the chance to do so (he has been accused of rapes in the past too).then my sister called 3 of her neo-nazi friends after the party to attack him.so they took knives,clubs,and crowbars and went at his house.he managed to escape and didn't apologise for anything.now they are planning to kidnap him,drive him in a deserted place and beat him really bad and make him regret it.what should i do now after all this?i can't sleep at nights..

just wondering if anyone has ever heard of elders being referred to as independent agents before.
i called the legal department and spoke to an older brother about the child molesters in my hall about a month ago.
he did not want to speak to me because i am just a stupid sister but he did finally agree and that was one point he made.
We should call the service desk and legal dept and ask them this question, get enough people to call and there will be a QFR published on it.
