aren't we all going to heaven? Except the GB, they go straight to hell.

Ahhh... the smell of self-righteousness and judgment. Your friend sounds like the typical rank and file company follower.
Great job making sense in your letters, your friend sounds programmed.

# 1 scripture that Jehovah Witnesses avoid, when denying they are false prophets
by wasblind injeremiah 28: 15-17. and jeremiah the prophet went on to say to hananiah the prophet: "listen, please, oh hananiah!
jehovah has not sent you, but you yourself have caused this people to trust in a falsehood.
therefore this is what jehovah has said, ' look!

I love reading the scriptures on false prophets. It's so blatantly obvious that the WTS is a false prophet yet the KM has topics on why they are not. It's like a liar claiming that he doesn't lie, everyone else that knows the 'truth' about the liar just looks at him and shakes his head and doesn't pay him any attention.

Sept.15th WT - WT Society uses Guilt & Fear to Avoid Friendship & Internet
by flipper inonce again my wife and i were sent the " witness only " wt version by our lurking jw friend that they study at wt study meetings.
and once again wt society is showing very controlling tendencies towards it's jw members.. do any of you remember the " old days " in the 1970's or early 1980's when witnesses used to have goody night after book study ?
or you would have a " potluck picnic " with about 30 to 40 people getting to know one another to draw close as friends outside the confines of the kingdom hall ?

Year text for 2011: (Thanks Baltar447!)
"The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves"
Now if I only had a scripture to go along with that....

Jehovahs Witnesses have a lot more mental problems and much higher suicide rate
by TastingFreedom injerry bergman, ph.d. .
the first american study.
the watchtower influence was often not positive, and there was no evidence that it had in the long run helped those who had emotional problems when they joined.

Bible Contradictions
by brotherdan ini will go out on a limb and say that this has probably been discussed alot.
but for my own personal benefit i'd like to hear everyones "favorite" bible contradiction.
i'd also like to hear any refutes that anyone has to any of these contradictions.

BroDan, I've been reading From Eden to Exile: Unraveling the Mysteries of the Bible, by Eric H. Cline and read through the garden of eden and the flood chapters. Very interesting read, concise and to the point, you may enjoy it if you have time.

Two sisters come a-callin!
by uncle al inlast month the spanish congregations were having their distric assembly and two sisters were in my neighborhood delivering an invitation to a neighbor.
the neighbor was not home but i was outside washing my car, so they come over because the older sister, in her 70's, knows me and wanted to say hello.
i took the opportunity to mention the fact that i haven't been to a meeting since 2006. she acted as if this was news to her.

JW's are trained well to deflect, distract, project, confuse and decieve. Sounds like they learned a thing or two studying about following the Christ.
NOT!

Helpful suggestions for The Watchtower Society ...
by wannabefree init seems you discontinued the wrong meeting.. 1. reinstate the "book study" at private homes - (and go back to the original name, because changing the name to "congregation bible study" isn't fooling anyone).
2. add a real bible study/discussion to the in-home meetings.. 3. discontinue the other four meetings and sell the kingdom halls ... or turn them into homeless shelters, that would be a christian thing to do.
4. stop printing magazines for the ministry, tracts work just fine.

LOL! wannabefree, it is pointless, but good attempt to try.
I'm a bit more forward with my mom, I told her the other day that the org needs a huge overhaul. A reformation is needed etc, and she totally agreed, she see's the hypocrisy but won't leave because she feels that this is still God's org.
To go along with what you said BroDan, there would need to be so much reform that this would be a totally new religion to clean up the shit that is within the WTS. The funny thing is, isn't that how this damn religion got started in the first place? It wanted to break free from the BS of mainstream relgion? LOL! Look at where we're at only after 130 years! Corruption all the way to the top (worship us or die), pawned their idolatry as pseudo-worship to God, manipulating millions, and yet, out of all of earth's population, less than 1% are members.
If God is using the WTS he sure made a mistake in choosing them to spread the 'good news'.

Good job staying on topic. It's funny that she acted shocked when you told her you haven't been to the meetings in 4 years yet ends with her comment about your mother being sad that you don't attend the meetings.
Stupid people are just...well, stupid.
