disfellowshipping has a "measure" of validity since in the 1st century you could be removed from the christian congregation for practicing sin.
(but not shunned outside of worship ceremonies).. the process in which someone is accepted back into the fold in the jw policy is completely made up.

I couldn't agree more with that statement. I realized at a young age (baptized mid teens) that after a couple years I couldn't even remember the date exactly, showed that I really didn't think it was all that important. But I do know my birthdate by heart, and I never even celebrated it!

I honestly can't remember mine exactly.... I got the month, but I'm sketchy on the day/year... In fact, I don't think I ever remembered it after the first 2 years... I think it was in '93.
yes, that's right, they really do not like people being able to read that book so they wanted links to it removed (it appears they have also been going after the hosts of the content itself as well).. unfortunately, i had to removed the links (which were dead anyway when i checked) and i'd ask that people don't re-post them (sorry).

Hi palmtree, I too was raise with the heavy indoctrination growing up that the book study was going to be the last resort type of communication that we recieve after the Great Tribulation starts. I too was blown away when they decided to eliminate that. It was like, wait? WTF? I thought... Huh? That makes no sense according to what you've been preaching all these years...
