Attendants are no bodies, that's like OTWO said, one rung above toilet duty. 1 year after I was reinstated they were using me as an Attendant at the CA. Big freakin whoop, I got to walk around and act all that so I wouldn't have to pay attention at least. lol

Reinstated Males Serving as Ass'y Attendants
by doinmypart inat the circuit assembly this weekend i noticed two guys reinstated within the last year were both serving as attendants.
i thought brothers had to be "exemplary" to do that kind of work.
have the requirements changed?

January 1 WT - Garden of Eden - Most inane article in a while
by eric356 inthe wt has really managed to outdo itself in regards to stupid, poorly researched articles attempting to defend ancient myths as literal history.
the latest effort is the cover article "the garden of eden - myth or fact?".
no moderately educated adult should have to ponder that question for long before answering "myth".

The problem is Sab, there are SO MANY different doctrines that hinge the WTS theology together that any one of them can be proven wrong the whole thing would collapse. Adam and Eve being literal, 144k being literal, Jerusalem destroyed in 607 BCE to get to 1914.... the list goes on...
The whole thing is built on a house of cards. The real problem is that JWs take this bullshit as the word of God when the GB say it...

ele_lux, welcome to JWN! Congratulations on your awakening and even though the road may be rough exiting or transitioning 'out', it is all worth it, YOU are all worth it, don't let feelings of guilt or fear or the JW line, 'we're not worthy' get you down. Ever. You are doing excellent to think for yourself and remember, always make progress, don't let the active JWs bring you down again.

Also, a break down of the chapter I listed above here, talks about the Garden of Eden: http://northstatescience.blogspot.com/2007/09/review-of-from-eden-to-exile-chapter-1.html
"Ultimately, however, Cline concludes that, although there may be a kernel of historical truth to the Garden of Eden stories (the writer was, after all, referring to some kind of geographical reality, although at what scale remains debatable), the final historical “truth” will probably remain elusive:
It is hard to put the Garden of Eden into historical context, for it belongs to the realm of prehistory, if not myth or legend (p. 13).
From my perspective as an archaeologists and researcher, Cline also offers a much-welcomed assessment of current views: any future evidence announced will have to be backed by legitimate scholars following proper archaeological and historical methodology. Cline raises this important problem, too often ignored by the media and professionals in the field, in greater detail in later chapters of the book." -

Pick up the book From Eden to Exile http://www.amazon.com/Eden-Exile-Unraveling-Mysteries-Bible/dp/1426200846 and look up the chapter on the Garden of Eden. Pretty interesting reading.

Information control in the midst of an information revolution
by sabastious inmy older brother is a prime victim of information control.
one of the last talks we had together before he decided to shun me was about the age of the earth.. he told me that science was a fraud.
he proved this with the bible's claim that god created the world in 6 thousand years (a thousand years as a day to jehovah).. he told me that science says it has fossils that are millions of years old therefore they must be lying since it conflicts with the bible.. he has a 4 year old son, my nephew.. i know that he was describing to me a position that not even the watchtower has.

Sounds like an MS I know. If there is any question to anything, he doesn't say, "what does the bible say on it" he says, "What does the WT say about it." And it's final whatever is printed.

Watchtower and Communist propaganda
by aqwsed12345 inhave you ever wondered about the similarity of the watchtower-style and communist propaganda?
think about the "years' text" on kingdom halls'walls or catchwords on circuit assemblies.
on communist party assemblies there were a same-type text like "long live the socialism" etc.

I always thought the WTS was communist. A communist dictatorship. Correction, A Communist Dictatorial Cult. There, that's about right.

Well, technically, I'm still 'in', I haven't gone out in FS in...uh... shiiiiit... 9 months now... I think I've been to less than a dozen meetings in the last 6 months. I can't go out in FS and say what they want me to say, I cannot in good conscience say the canned messages to try to sucker someone into this cult. If I had a partner in crime I would be preaching the real truth about the WTS... but I have no one I could do that with here...
