  Another Television Show on the Jehovah's Witnesses on May 10th

  i will be interviewed on the cable tv network known as the "eternal world television network" (ewtn) about my conversion from the jehovah's witnesses to the roman catholic church.

  Hi Gumby:

  I thought that way too until I started reading the early church fathers. In addition, I soon discovered that it was the bishops of the Catholic Church that determined what books should be included in the New Testament. Eventually, I read the Catechism of the Catholic Church and that eventually lead to my conversion.

  I also started reading the stories of many of the Saints and was impressed by their concern for people everywhere. I did not realize this but the Catholic Church provides an impressive array of social services for needy people all across the world regardless of race, creed, religion, or color.

  In addition, I fell in love with the way in which Catholics worship God. The churches are artistically beautiful and the music is grand.

  As far as the effect the program would have on any active JWs, I would expect them to be very negative towards it. I am more interested in educating fellow Catholics about the JWs and any former JW who might want to learn more about Catholicism.

  I will be interviewed on the cable TV network known as the "Eternal World Television Network" (EWTN) about my conversion from the Jehovah's Witnesses to the Roman Catholic Church. The program is called "The Journey Home" and it will air on Monday May 10th at 7 pm Central Time (USA).   "Immortal Soul" - A Watchtower Doctrine!

  in my 25 years or so in "christendom" i've been to many different churches in different denominations and have heard hundreds, perhaps thousands, of sermons.

  in all that time i have never heard the term "immortal soul" used, not even once.

  yet the jws go on (and on, and on!

  There was a book about the dubs entitled "Apostles of Denial". The point of the book is that the way the JWs define their doctrines is to deny the doctrines that mainstream Christianity has taught for the last 2000 years. In essence, the doctrines of the JWs are just the negative of most things that the mainstream Christian churches teach.

  I was talking to a friend of mine who is a Catholic priest. When I mentioned that I used to be a JW, he commented on their dedication to their beliefs but then said that the JWs are a very angry religion.

  Thanks for listening and thanks for calling in. I usually get invited to be on this program once every three to four months. The ministry operates this program locally in the St. Louis, MO area for now. However, their plan is to be national syndicated within the next five years once they become better financed.

  In any case, probably some time in April or May we will have the opportunity to do another program about the JWs and I will be asking for your help once again.

  Yes, they make bratwurst here. When I interviewed for the teaching job here, we went to some place where they were serving bratwurst lasagna. I wonder what that tastes like. I was not brave enough to try here while interviewing just in case it would come back to haunt me later. ;)

  Good. Jam the phone lines. Get the word out. We reach lots of people with these programs and after we do programs like this many individuals stop studying with the JWs and others share this info with people they know who are studying with the JWs.

  By the way, I just moved to Sheboygan, Wisconsin. What part of Wisconsin are you from?
