Anyone else an Ex Bethel "volunteer"
by BackseatDevil ini was wondering if there were any other ex-bethelites on here.
i personally regularly went for temporary work at brooklyn then was assigned to the farm for a year and a half.
it was... one of the most bizaare experiences of my life.. so i wrote it all down (finally, after some 15 years) so i won't bore anyone on here with the details of the story - because bethel doesn't show up until chapter 15... and for you straight folks, it gets a bit gay in two places... but nothing gross.

Wow, what an amazing story. I loved the writing. I read the whole thing in one sitting. This is something I could read again. Thank you for sharing this with us!

thank's to this site and jwfacts i'll never study or step foot inside a kingdom hall again.

I've known of various people who, like your mother, swear up and down the JWs have the truth and that they are true believers in what is being taught, yet they do not go to meetings or in field service. They won't hear a negative word about Watchtower Corp. But they do not do what is required of the dubbies in terms of meetings, service, etc.
How can you believe it with ever fibre of your being yet at the same time not get baptised, go to all meetings, and out in service? I don't get it!

Welcome! No, not harsh at all. You are clear, direct, polite and firm. Perfection! I'm very impressed.

Passed my Post Grad with 'Outstanding' grade! Shows it's never too late.
by Lozhasleft ini've just had the official results on my pgce.
i'm not posting here to boast, but to encourage any who may have abandoned education because of the pressure as a jw, and who may feel that it's too late to return and achieve such goals.
in the 1980s i stopped halfway through my b.ed honours and accepted a dip.h.e.

Loz - is it a PGCFHE or PGCHE? Where I taught in England, it was pretty much required for lecturers to do. But because of my experience and post, I didn't have to do the PGCHE.

Hello and my exit story from WTS
by free2Bme13 ini thought it was fitting for me to share my freedom from the witnesses story on independence day weekend.. i dont have any secret info, just experiences that happened to me and started to open my eyes.. i was a third generation, raised in the truth kid who was never supposed to be born, and then never supposed to graduate high school.
ive now been out of high school longer than i was in school.. the beginning of the end started a little less than a decade ago.
i was late 20s at the time.

Thank you so much for your beautifully written first post. I enjoyed reading it, not because of the sturggle, but I thought you wrote it so well. I wonder, free2be, how many others have the issues and questions about the Watchtower Corp that you had but are struggling silently, plotting along going to meetings anyway? It is interesting that your parents also have issues. Again, I wonder how many others do as well. Watchtower Corp has done a good job, though, of creating a culture where it isn't possible to share any concerns out of fear for your spritual, and therefore, physical life.
Congratulations on escaping the cult.

I can't stand clutter. I get rid of things left right and center, even things I wind up needing. I am the opposite of a hoarder.
